    why not? it is a very common way to control feral pigeons on farms ....... someone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong but plenty of people control them this way....it is pest control.

    There are good and bad people in all sports and shooting/hunting will be the same. In my opinion hunting foxes with dogs should be allowed but not hunting deer as too many inexperienced people have ago and cause massive suffering to them whereas a rabbit can be dispatched very quickly by a dog not so with a deer and dogs not suitable for that task. A lot of what is said on these forums should be taken with a pinch of salt though as some people just like the craic and a bit of banter .......it gets the number of their posts up

    In my opinion it also depends whether you are shooting them for genuine pest control reasons ie one of my permissions is on a commercial chicken farm with free range hens so in this scenario It is irelevant whether the vixen has cubs to feed or not......if I see a fox it is difficult at night to see for definite whether it is a dog or vixen so either way I will shoot it end of story, chances of finding the den would be slim as they can come from anywhere because there is such an easy food source. On my other permissions,which has a syndicate on it I would do the same but on my one permission

    A couple of times ( a year a part mind you) I managed to get 3 crows with one shot of the 12g shotty, just luck more than anything.

    I agree. If they are Chavs then most likely so are the parents, don't get involved in a confrontation and put your own FAC or SGC at risk. After yesterdays tragic turn of events the police will be keen to respond correctly.
