  1. A Great big thanks for the brilliant day as usual. Well done lads, Del.
  2. Hunt, i agree with you here mate. I will also be very honest and say that i have had on very few occasions the need or wish that i had brought my hard dog to complete a mission due to the ground being impenitrable and i could not reach old Charlie boy. One that springs to mind is a hole we part dug where we encountered a boulder that was frikkin massive, on top of another couple of boulders and no way could we dig this. I could see my wee tyke baying away and Charlies nose could just be seen but could not be reached. We spent about 3 hours fannying about (yes lads, fannying about is the correc
  3. i have just had this out on another post as i have a few bayers that i can use every day and i got them knocked on this site by folk who reckon they know it all, maybe they do but i will say, that my little bayers will always be here for me and not lying in kennels bashed up for weeks on end. To me, these so called hard or kennel stressed terriers are ten a penny. They arent clever dogs but stupid dogs. How on earth can a dog that can only be used a few times a year be worth a bed in kennels is beyond me but this is only my personal opinion, yis Del.
  4. Very nice russell mate where's she at now? She still here buddy. Almost 8 now but still getting a go. This is the one from here that a few knock because she is a bayer and not a mxer. Might not suit some but most certainly suits me, yis Del.

I have been over aboout 8 or 9 times and love Sweden and Norway. Fishing is brilliant. I have hunted roe with wire haired dachhounds and I have hunted hare with hamilton stovas but the dogs can only hunt for about 5 months in the winter im sure. You cannot hunt with a dog that is capable of catching its quarry above ground as far as i know. You cannot use a lamp either, so no lurchers. Fox and pigs are legal to hunt just now but i believe that in 2016 the laws change regarding working fox in a trap. You will love it over there and yes, a lot of the ladies are stunning. Look up the JRTC Sweden
  9. Fair comment FM but how long does a terrier have to stay underground so as not to become a jibber, ie 1hr, 2hs, 3hrs etc.
  10. Thanks for the translation assistance there Beatnick, Del.
  11. Fat man, can i ask you please to explain what would happen if your dog was in say, a 10fter for example and you got 1/2 way down and hit solid rock which was impossible to penetrate. Would your dog stay there forever and not come out or how long would he bide in. Now,Lets throw another spanner in the works in case you say your dog would dispatch then leave. Say the fox was in a spot like this that was impossible to dig and charlie had squeezed through a tight spot that your terrier couldnt get too or he jumped up onto a ledge where terrier couldnt get to which does happen, then you are trying
  12. Thanks Lancer for back up on this one and thanks to all the guys for the pms on ignoring keyboard clowns. I have decided to come back on this post again so hear goes. As i was saying, I was in Georgia hunting bobcat with a hard experienced terrier Del.
  13. He wouldave been a Grandad in two weeks. I remember the time he ripped me because i sat on the outside of the show ring eating a huge steak pie out of the ashet because it was the only one the butcher had. I took some ribbing that day but the one thing you could be sure about was that it was all in jest. Many moons ago, at an earth, Jock had dug down to find his beloved dog had suffocated due to a cave in and he removed it from the hole along with what he thought was a dead fox. The tired and NOT dead fox suddenly shot up and took off and Jock chased it through the woods and as it ran
  14. Nice wee dog. The ex wife of Ullswater huntsman is looking for a wee terrier as a pet. If you wish i can try and pass it down to her. It would be well looked after with her and would get more exercise on the fells than most, Del.
  15. My family know that when i go, There will be a huntsman on horse with a full pack of hounds riding down the stree in front of the hearse and then onto the crematorium to blow gone away. I will be wearing my hunting attire and my scarlet coat and riding boots. My ashes will then be split in half and my son will take half to Georgia and scatter over the Midland foxhounds grub whilst the other half will be scattered on Fife foxhounds grub. In my mind, i will then hunt all over GB and USA. May sound strange to some but this is my wish. I only learned to ride over a year ago and hunted on horse for
  16. You have just said what others are thinking, well done Clachan. The mods should delete these people from posts. If they are not happy with the posts why not simply ignore them instead of spoiling them. I bet this topic will turn into another one, Del.
  17. I got a set of xdoptics 10-40x60 SFE if interested buddy. I got them off Daffy duck on here a few weeks ago as a swap but they are 2 technical for me. The scopee has a battery and 3 knobs to turn. I have a good set of plain simple ones on my .22 rimfire so i have decided to stick wth them. I would expect us both to pay our own p&p as my scopes are worth well over £100 mate. If you click on the pic you will see that they are in mint condition. Im in Fife if interested,. I am away untill Sunday night. Del.
  18. It was seemingly Jocks wish that should anything happen to him then everyone was to wear kilts or hunting attire to his funeral and his good lady wife invited myself to wear the kilt whilst walking one of his dogs in front of the hearse. It was the biggest funeral i have ever attended and people came from all over the world to send him off. Jock never had a bad word to say about anyone and would always be one of the first to help if you or your dog were to become stuck in any way. What a way to go eh?, Del.
  19. All the best with yuor show Weller, Del.
  20. Came across this tonight and thought i would share it with you lads. This was the funeral of Jock Reid from Fife a few years ago. Jock died from a heart attack as a young man. Jocks dogs were marched to the end of the street in front of the hearse. He will always be remembered by myself and a lot of others for teaching us how it should be done. Jock brought more to the Terrier world than most folk will ever dream about. R.I.P. Jock.
