iv been out since 2.00 and just came in with 12!! crows all head or neck shots im able to walk right up to them and its not even dark

A magpie is well harder to shoot than a rabbit you try walking up on a magpie it will be off as soon as it see`s you. a rabbit sits there until it thinks ur a threat
Iv used a pump action and that was a pile of wank to load.. i fought semi`s and pump actions you load the same
Can be similar..depends on make and model but are you talking about "loading" or "cycling"????

For all you no it could of been someone 1/2 a mile away firing a .22 over a hill without a backstop and with a 1 in a million chance it hit the cow in the head
o/u more reliable and faster to load and you will be more likely to be aloud on organised pheasant/grouse shoots
semi auto one extra shot less reliable less likely to be allowed on organised shoots
