  1. Camokid, don't take it personally. Mr_Logic's quite right and what he said is sound advice. A larger round on fox equals a cleaner, more humane kill without the inherent risks of the lighter, .17 on animals of this size. Having said that, placement is crucial whatever you're using.
  2. Slightly off topic, but this got me grinning this morning! http://www.scottcountry.co.uk/products_det...?productID=2102 Whilst I'm wondering if this actualy works or not, has anyone else come across any other amusing hunting 'aids'?
  3. Good write up Martin. Some serious damage there! What lead were you using?
  4. Yup, it's jannock. Pat got the job cos 1.) he could drive like a rally man and 2.) he could shoot a big pistol and 3.) he didn't give a monkey's. Still got blown away with a Tommo though. Mind, the guys who shot him ended up wearing concrete weskits. Under 50 foot of water. JUST DON'T ASK ME HOW I KNOW, OK? Ric
  5. Was this a variation, or do you have a very friendly FEO. Lucky to get all three calibres on a new cert
  6. I wouldn't necessarily say so. Yes it's got plenty of punch, but doesn't have the speed compared to .243. I'd say the .270 is more a dedicated hunting calibre, when you need energy as opposed to outright range.
  7. We’re all aware that gun safety and awareness of the potential dangers is of paramount importance in our sport – And it’s testament to the members on this site that these issues are highlighted on a regular basis. Even so, things can and do happen. As this article illustrates nicely. http://mbatm27.wordpress.com/2007/10/24/ba...elated_content/
  8. Me and my missus are all year round types.
  9. Seemingly, the .243AI will send a heavier load with more velocity than the standard round. Ideal for long range (up to 1000 yards) .Sounds ideal to me without going for something like a .308.
  10. One of these should do it FBC. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=p4ebtj1jR7c&...feature=related
  11. I must confess to not knowing much about this calibre in WSSM. Although at over 4000ft/s with lighter loads, it appears to have a reputation as a barrel burner. Anyone else?
  12. Jesus! Check out the picture on the main page of the FCSA website. That's the biggest mod I've ever seen! Deker, hope it works out. I'd love to see some photo's
  13. .223 is great for everything you need at the moment in my opinion. Otherwise it's down to specifics.
  14. I hear that! Never a better moment than pondering life's strange anomalies whilst being in the great outdoors. Plus that one shot.
  15. Great news Deker. Fully understand that you'd like wrap this up. Good things happen to good guys after all! Best regards
