  1. What scope are you using on your rifles? the hmr looks very nice by the way, i do like the wood on it.
  2. yeah there can be problems. i almost didn't get mine because my sister has a caution for a violent crime. i hope it works out for you mate, different forces have different policies so you might very well be lucky. atb Karl
  3. here is my little rifle. it's a .22lr CZ silhouette with a 16" barrel, a sak mod and a harris bipod. it's got a cheap and cheerful hawke sport-hd 3-9x40 scope with a MAP6 reticle. it only cost £50 and it does everything i could ask of it out to about 153yrs (my personal best rabbit shot). there is a software program that tells you what aim points to use at what distances under different magnifacations for the reticle and it actually works spot on. my set-up may not be much but it gets the job done and i love it.
  4. yeah thats why i got a silhouette, synthetic stock you see. best gun i ever bought.
  5. yeah i no what you mean, i was exactly the same waiting for mine. shouldn't take to long and u'll be chuffed when you do get it. atb Karl
  6. they are a mutation and they have alot of that pigment thing hence they are black. abit like the black wild rabbits i have seen, exactly the same as normal ones but the obviously have a pigment mutation and are jet black.
  7. thats some good shooting mate. i was out today and and a fox came to within 5yrds of my hide and i was so tempted to have a crack at it wit the .22lr but thought better of it. at the end of the day i had come back with a bit of a mixed bag to. nothing like a bit of diversity. atb Karl.
  8. I use eley subs in my .22lr CZ (cracking rounds!) and whatever is available for the 12g, bought 2500 lyalvale express super game 32g 6's which i'm using at the moment. atb Karl
  9. yeah thats cheap! get him to put it aside for you if you can. my cz with a 16" barrel was £270+£30 for the sak. i already had a scope that i got a while back for my air rifle but never used, till now. what sort of scope is it?
  10. i arrived back in england at half 5 this morning after spending the last 10days in St Lucia. I had a quite horrific flight caused by a 3yr old girl screaming for 8hrs in the seat behind me, so at the point of writing this i haven't slept for the last 30hrs. as i was in quite a horrible mood i thought i'd cheer myself up with a little hunting trip, so i grabbed my 12g and my decoys and went after some pigeons. After a few hours i decided to stop with 3 woodies in the bag and one crow. my shooting has seemed to have improved no end since my last decoying trip not long ago. nearly everythin
  11. good shooting richie, thats a nice bag of rabbits there. i take it you where using NV. i've always fancied giving that ago, would probably be just the thing as my local rabbit population is getting very lamp shy. atb, Karl
  12. cheers guys. it was good fun for a sunday afternoon and will be out trying again as soon as i can. the idea of practice does sound to bad when u have a good time doing it. still think i prefer shooting rabbits with the rimmy tho. atb Karl
  13. i had a couple of hours to kill this afternoon so i thought i'd try a spot of decoying for pigeons. i set up in a field hoping to get the first set of pigeons for my new lincoln premier. i am quite new to shotguns, i use rifles alot more and am a much better shot with one to so as you can imagine my confidence is pretty low at taking birds in flight as i just cant seem to hit them. before today i'd only taken one crow on the wing, plenty of rabbits whilest out lamping with a few mates yesturday night tho. i can hit a running rabbit but miss all the time with pigeons. well anyway in the
  14. yeah or a pain in the wallet if they dont but then again knowledge is priceless. Karl
  15. no i haven't. i bought 500 eley subs when i got the gun yesterday after reading about what others use in there cz 452's and the haven't gone wrong at all, so i'm really happy with them. i no it's a gd idea to try different brands to see which one works best but i'm a firm believer in "if it aint broke then dont fix it" and i dont think any other brands will be any better, tho i'm most probably wrong. Karl
  16. finally had a break in the weather so was as good a chance as any to set up my brand new cz silhouette in .22lr. having only shot a 22lr in the cadets at school 6yrs ago this was a whole new experience for me after moving to rimfire from air. the gun was awesome. it was shooting 1" groups at 75yrds straight out of the box, which i slowly tightened up to be consistantly under an 1". i found that the trigger was absolutly fine and had no problems with it at. slighty annoying having just ordered a brooks trigger kit after reading the reviews and thinking i was definatly going to need
  17. cheers geoff and SS for the help. i've decided to go for the 1/4 and the 1/2. think it suits me well.
  18. ok cheers. i have no notches on one of them then notches up to 4. i guess this means 0=full then.
  19. hi there i got my first 12g today and it came with 5 chokes. there have little notches to corespond to there size but what number of notches is equal to what size? is 4 notches full? any help would be great. thanks karl
  20. yeah i can see where they are coming from but it felt unfair to me at the time. as you can imagine i wasn't best pleased with her when the feo told me of the situation
  21. i couldn't find it ether. maybe the had a moment of clarity and removed it for the gd of the sport. i dont no what sort of person would even consider taking a shot a a fox with an air rifle, even a fac one.
  22. yeah i now it's quite strange but essex police have a general policy that if someone living in the house hold has an omission of guilt for a violent crime then they are unwilling to grant the licence. it is unfair really but there we go i got mine granted so i cant complain.
  23. the roof can come off the jimny aswell. i've got one with a soft top. is a bit of a hair dressers car but mine doesn't ever go on the road, it has no tax etc just use it to travel across my parents land with the rapid 7 which is going to be replaced with a .22lr and a 12g 2moz morning. great little car tho, hasn't put a foot/wheel wrong. and never got stuck once and my dads old disco doing the same job did, alot.
  24. cheers lads yeah i am relieved now. it didn't look like it was going to happen when the brought up my sisters little incident but my feo was such a help and thanks to him i now have the paper work. just wish the weather was a bit better so when i get my rifle i could actually get out there and use it.
