ive not seen a sulkie x whippet 1st cross,,,,,,but i belive it would make an really good cross for rabbits as long as the whippet was faster than the sulkie,,,,,as ive seen many ped,s slower than a sulkie,,,, i know iam going to get flagg for this comment,,,,,,but if a sulkie put to a very fast whippet ( also well built,--(like my fawn whippet in my signature ) --or pups would be a bag off bones ) would produce a very handy and great rabbit dog,,,,but a dash off collie would put the iceing on the cake iam now ducking for cover

sorry me again lol they use a size 2 for 16lb whippet,,,,,they get it off rob67 of k9,,,and i alison armstrong does those sizes too i think, that makes them 7 1/2 inch ,,,would that size do an advrege terrier ???? if so ,,,,i can see for u ,,as i think they will be at scottish derby 10 day event in 2weeks at kirkcaldy,,,i think my brother is ordering some stuff off one of them to bring up to him,,,if so how many and will u show for them ???,,,i can get him to order size 3 or 2 for u depending on ur terriers size,,,i think jans store show,s in more detail how to mesure a dog up for a mu

mesure the tip of nose over there eyes to back of head ,,,,example 10inch - size 7,,,,9,1/2 inch size 6,,,,i think a size 4 would be 8 1/2 inch and so on,,,,,like post said above size 3 might do iam sure u used to get size 2 & 1,,,,but there very hard to come by now as there,s not many 14lb whippets running anymore if failing to find a size ,,thats fitts ,,some people use those basket muzzels from pet store,,not as good but they do the job

alot off racing whippets go to wor john and vivs quest e,t,c which without a doubt do throw good stuff but lets not forget the bigger non peds,,,,which are in dog feature in k9 community in non ped section,,,,which wont get the non ped bitches due to there bigger size,,,due to non ped racing down to a weight handycapp,,,but there just as well breed and alot of cases same,,,,,but there stronger and in most cases faster at short and longer distances if it bigger dogs ur looking for ,,,,,there,s micky whizz == jack the lad== biglandboy==red ranger==chunkie==stag possessed==denis the me

i walk the my dogs as much as i can,,,i even have a phisycal job,,,,i plaster all day on price sometimes my job is a 2 hour drive away,,and iam knackered,,,but 3/4 times a week i bite the bullet and take them out on advrege 4miles a day,,,,and if i cant and had a really rough day i alway take mine to park for 1/2 hour and let them run about but i think which benifits mine most i alway take them racing for a whole day every week in summer,,,,pretty much as lurcher folk do with there shows,,,which is really good as the dogs without a doubt all enjoy themselfs and owners,,,,just get ur dogs

i agree there bads uns ,,,and there always will be main problems is just leaving them in kennel to rot away,,,or even in house other problems is when they get injured or the basic,s worm or flea trement,,,, somtimes owners are too tight to get them treatment and the worse one we see all to often in papers or on the net,,,not bothering to feed them , ie worse case starving them to the brink of death,,there,s no excuse for that,,feed and water its basic

whip x grey replied to Richie10's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
same thing happened to me ,,dog was 2+year old,,came down with a very high tempture,,1 degree higher and vet said he was brown bread sort off speak,,,,,cut long story short dog survied ,,, 1st thing vet said to me has he had a 1st booster,,,when he was at deaths door,,,i said no,,,,he told me 1st booster the most important,,miss that one he,ll have to be jagged again,,,so i did as i have him insured and insurance wont pay out if dog,s not boosted up,,,,,got another injury 2 months ago--just got big vet bill last month / got cheque for it last week,,,If dog wasnt jagged up to date,,i would -

unsure about 30/40 yards i think bwra whippets would be at the top end off the table at starting ability brother,s bwra 32lb whippet x grey did ---8.19 secounds last week for 150 yards,,,,her fastest time was 8.09 secounds for that distance there,s a 25lb whippet at club at momment doing 8.28 secounds last week 150 yards and lets not forget the race breed greyhound open class watched a greyhound who raced a car round a track,, on top gear,,,they had all the technolagy i presume,,,they reckon that greyhound almost reached its top speed in 6 strides out off trap

had same problem with black dog in my signature ,,,,,behind rabbit,s but wouldnt strike,,,,and speed wasnt an issue with him,,,,to be honest i thought he wouldnt catch a rabbit,,,then all off a sudden he was knocking them down,,,, he,s a racer 1st so i only give him daytime rabbits,,but i do like them to take rabbits as part of there training ,that,s why i was worried i thought i had a dog that would chase ,,but wouldnt strike,,then he was 18 months , every time i take him out the hunting head is on no stopping him now,,killing anything that moves ,, if my racer can,,,iam sure ur lurcher c
