  2. this is my younger brother,s dog,s who i think would be more than happy to put to stud when ready,,, 1st pic is the brother of my young black dog ben,,,,going to be a cracker not an upto date picture ben was only 9/10 month when pic was tooken bobby,,,his 2nd dog brother to my fawn one,,2year old,,, sorry no update pic,,,think he was 11/12month when pic was tooken iam sure if u throw in a bag off greyhound food to my brother when his dog,s are ready would be more than willing to stud any lurcher,s that come to him in brechin hope this help,s anyon
  3. I used to race an italian greyhound/whippet round the shows in those days. It was a blue one and used to give the big dogs a real whipping over the short distances mate, and i have a pal in carn......e with a whippet x who may be looking for a line so will pass on your offer.   5. what height is the whippet greyhounds you have mate.????????? the white/parti 28lb zac,,,,is just a fraction over 21inch,,,,his 1st bitch brought to him was small,,,and i noticed he was hand shy,,,,,but his 2nd bitch was bigger and i had to hold him up,,,,wasnt shy 2nd time lol ,,,,, is 1st litter was 3,,,,black,brindle, fawn........his 2nd litter was 6 all black,,,,looks so far he doent throw white,,lol the fawn buddy 32lb ,,,,,is just 22 inch,,,,,( i would love him to get a bitch cos he is build like a tank for a whippet) think he,ll make a good stud outside the whippet circ
  6. just thought i would bump this up and ask question is there lurcher racing in scotland and where would i get date,s,,,,and also does lurcher racing use racing muzzels now in scotland????? used to race a 30lb fawn bitch in 1988 to 1991,raced her about 10 time,s in the lurchers,,,,,,would love to go along and watch lurcher racing again
  7. i have posted some photo,s ,,,,,i know i dont hunt mine that much cos there racers 1st ,,,good for adding some speed,,,,they run just over 8 seconds for the 150yards and also run the 300yard bend track,,,,i think if cross with a hardy lurcher injurys shouldnt be a problem this is 28lb zac,,,,did have photo of him bringing me a rabbit back but pic was on old computer IN RED JACKET 28lb buddy 32lb buddy again with his 1st big race paddy 24 inch,,,,still young not got recent pic think he was 6/7 months when tooken he is year old now

  9. cos i race mine i have to watch for injurys,,,but my 28lb dog that has breed 2 litter,s,,,i have used for rabbits and odd hare from time to time,, fawn one also rabbits but i dont work mine,,,just for racing,,,,,,but i stay arbroath scotland,,,,,and noticed there,s not much of anything here,,,,hence put post up for anyone who was looking who couldnt travel far contry music was used alot in lurcher breed,s and was a racer........if ur mate,s looking and comes to me he can use any of my dog,s,,,,,,, it helps me also when coming to breed other racer,s hence gives my dog practice,
  10. thought i would put this on ,,,cos in my area i know whipet x greyhounds are in short supply and if anyone want to use my dogs for there lurcher,s i would be more than willing i have one dog that has breed 2 bitches,,,3/4 whippet ,1/4 greyhound... 28lb got fawn dog,,,who is on my signature,,,32lb not had bitch yet but look,s intrested,,,,( very strong dog) in build and character,,, got black dog,,,1/2 greyhound , 1/2 whippet,,,,,,too young at momment ,,but should be good blood for future and size
  11. nice to see iam not the only one thats used a whip x grey to take roo had a 36lb bitch that took an adult roo on her own,,,,but if a fox ever got up i think i would call her back,,as a fox could cos damage to her on her own here a pic of her,,,she was meant to be a racer,,,but had more of a hunting head on her,,lol....(hence she caught somone,s eye and went to her new home ) i think she was only 1 year old when photo was taken,,,

  13. I was there 1991-1993 i also had a placement but the guys who didnt had to work on the collage farm until placed. Your right it wasa good time.I am wondering if i went at the same time as you.I continued keepering for a further two years then got into pest control which i still do.Good luck with your keepering i was to think the excact date i thought 1990,,,,but thats when started my placment,,,it was febuary the next year i went to elmwood,,,which was 1991,,( i think ) i cant remeber all the guys i think there was 17 guys in class when i started they had already did 4 weeks of
  14. when i did the game keeping course in 1990 i was sent to cupar in fife ,elmwood collage,,,,i was lucky i had my placement sorted before i went to collage so i only had to do 2weeks then another 3--- 2 week blocks for the rest of that year and 5 x 2week blocks on 2nd and final year the other class mate,s who didnt have a placement before going to colloge had to wait up to 6 weeks at colloage till they found them one elmwood colloge was good,,,,,it was like a 2 week party lol goodluck if gamekeeping is what u want to do,,
