  1. Who made you post the pics of yourself with your nights catches? You wanted the praise MB sorry but you have to stand by them now you were warned Y.I.S Leeview
  2. Doubt it to be honest he's got a good reputation for being genuine and honest Y.I.S Leeview
  3. Well pre-ban some lads were warned repeatedly about coursing on land on the outskirts of Leeds by the farmer, in the end one dog got shot Now who do you think prosecuted the farmer? the police said the farmer was within his rights to do it, the lads could nt afford it, so who did press charges? the arsepca thats who for inflicting pain on the dog, said it was inhumane So the headshot may be a way the lad coul go perhaps? just a thought Y.I.S Leeview
  4. Lurchers and greyhounds do seem to turn up a lot in the pound and rescues. In Ireland though, after greyhounds I'd say collies and collie crosses are the most disposed of dog ever. out of interest where and what are the head quarters like in Eire? In England they spent millions of their funds on new head quarters in Surrey, that could of gone a long way in animal welfare Y.I.S Leeview My God, the RSPCA seem to be causing loads of hassle in Britain from what I've read here. In Ireland they don't seem to be hassling people like that.... they don't do fcuk all about real cruelty
  5. Well done Daniel that memory of your first rabbit in your own hand made net will never be forgotten Trust me Y.I.S Leeview
  6. Replies might slow down now the kids are back at school Y.I.S Leeview
  7. and who do they turn to for help? No One they get on and do it themselves Y.I.S Leeview
  8. British Rail connection? Y.I.S Leeview
  9. True ginga john they never had a homeland till 1949 when Israel was formed and my how they protect it force wise nobody puts on them and gets away with itY.I.S Leeview
  10. Yes Thank You we had a really good christmas and new year, hope you did too. You hang on to your hand made nets you'll cherish them and the satisfaction of using them is immense Y.I.S Leeview
  11. Hi Daniel see your getting to grips with the nets OK I've double stranded some nets usually stuff that would be too fine on its own, what you have to remember is use 2 like threads(thickness) or you'll run into trouble half way the net Y.I.S Leeview
  12. OK lads you managed to get 16 like minded people to enter YOUR lamping comp but nobody else is allowed to have an opinion cos there not entered advice is offered all round and turned down out of hand because the persons not entered.Well as a person whos not entered can I make a suggestion that next season you get your act together prior to the start of the comp and keep it behind closed doors for the people that have entered only that way your keeping comments coming from entrants only Y.I.S Leeview
  13. Nice box lads well done to your papa for knocking you one up, IMO those holes are fine, I've never had or heard of a ferret overheating in the working sesaon ever!!! would nt bedding i.e shavings, straw/hay or paper tissues cause them to overheat? Comfort first for my ferrets Y.I.S Leeview
  14. the farmer wasnt taking the law int his own hands the law entitles him to protect his stock If you reread the opening thread it states some he gets is dog food off told him someone he knew had his dogs shot in the dales. 3rd hand info "the farmers were watching him for awhile" didnt that cause any alarm bells to ring? "he left the dogs there and did a runner" did he have permission at all to be there? and where abouts in the dales was this incident? Y.I.S Leeview
  15. Purely pest control a proviso of getting the permission, big bags in those days were the order of the day. Did your mate ever breed from the bitch? Y.I.S Leeview
  16. As far as I know, there is only one dog thru' to the 3rd round; LDR's dog Bruce, who beat my dog. I ran both my heats on schedule, but so what if the others are a bit late ??? It was meant to be a comp between like minded lads, and yes, Scouser had his concerns, but they were addressed, and hopefully accepted. As for MB, well, if everyone bent over backwards to accomodate him, he would still find some thing to shout about !! MY moan is that there are so many people telling us how it should be run, but didn't have the minerals to enter in the first place !!! I have enjoyed the hosting of other
  17. TRUE chartpolski but the competitors MB+ scouser have had there moans, at this moment 2 dogs are through to the next round I believe and four are waiting to run, with 2 of them possibly not running till the end of January and if one of those is injured you have to extend the same as is being done at present and that could take the comp. into March And your right its not the Waterloo Cup because thats run to rigid rules that are known by the entrants, competitors and spectators this is nt a complaint or wanting a rule change its an attempt to open up the possible outcome you may have to make
  18. OK I've had a bit to do with competitions pre ban if MB is given a bye he should still have to run(although by being a bye he cant loose) otherwise hes had less work to do than his oponent in the next round and MB giving WH time is very sporting but whoever gets through to the semis may have to run with in days of completing this round so that both finalists have equal recovery time and under coursing rules a dog can not progress on consecutive bye's Y.I.S Leeview
  19. DITTO so split the night up into three sessions and with the right conditions and the right dog and the right person behind the dog ....100 could be done.... That would be the thing Right Conditions Right Person Right dog Right Land Bit like poker you could play for life time and still be waiting for that full house Y.I.S Leeview
  20. usually from one end to the other end Y.I.S Leeview
  21. HAS MB ENTERED CAT IN THE GRAND NATIONAL AS WELL? Y.I.S Leeview
  22. 4z for my longnets everytime, but of late been using stop nets more and more and for these I used some twine that I have had lying around for a long time very fine but really strong, its actually very much like the thread that used to be used on cricket bat handles and that works a treat its that fine I have put a luminous pink selvedge on the top to enable myself to see it Y.I.S Leeview
  23. never had to suck an egg but how much difference does the depth vary by the collar being to the side rather underneath? an inch perhaps? Y.I.S Leeview ps glad I stuck with the MK1's
  24. See my reply to S.S. and let me know how you train your workers? Stock from generations of good workers will produce a very high percentage of workers, which even in the hands of novices will work well. Why would nt they? once a ferret is entered into a warren theres not a lot any handler can do to influence it from maybe be 50-60ft away(not deep) The ferret either has working determination or it does nt, if it has so much the better BUT it still may not be a good top notch worker suitable for breeding from Y.I.S Leeview this is how ive trained them and its never let me down yet plenty o
