  1. No. Every year you allow your ferrets to breed. Ever thought of skipping a year or two? Or is there some technical reason why that's not possible, like being too tight to invest in a vas hob? Point taken about feckless teenagers, but the responsibility for the kits being there in the first place is yours and yours alone.
  2. Who the hell do you think your are? I thought you wernt anti-hunting ? Do us all a favour and get off this (let me remind you again... HUNTING website! I think I'm me, well I was when I last checked.... And I'm not anti-hunting. Not if it's done with a bit of respect for the animals involved. Which BRB patently fails to show. Get your dictionary out and look up the word 'irony'
  3. Then you're an idiot. As I said earlier, attitudes like yours just fuel the prejudices of 'pet ferret' owners.
  4. Ditch_Shitter, I couldn't agree more. Except that I wouldn't shoot a badly bred ferret, I'd send it to a rescue. But everything else....spot on
  5. My thoughts are that you assume you'll get 10 kits and arrange owners accordingly. If you get fewer than that, someone is disappointed. Tough. If it's too many for you, then get together with a few mates. If your workers are any good (and your mates believe that working ability is inherited) then I don't see a problem. Breeding too many and killing the excess just plays into the pet-owners' 'all ferreters are evil' prejudices.
  6. He means 'kill' BRB is an extreme hunter of 20 years experience. It's what they do
  7. You quite recently offered to take a couple of ferrets from a Donkey sanctuary in Cornwall, so why do you need to get rid of them?
  8. It's the average for bloody collectors, Kay......
  9. Hey "Hemma roid" this is for extreme hardcore ferreters this forum, if it don't work they get "nutted" mate. We aren't fluffy ferret fancier's from pets at home. We ferret on the edge mate its life and death out there. Fookin right! Extreme Tactical Death DPM-fetishist My-Gun's-Bigger-Than-Yours Forum...... Gotta go bite the heads off a few kits now....
  10. Not gonna say owt to you that I'm not prepared to be criticised on here for. Gve you a break? You stated your attitude I stated mine. You don't like it? Tough. Be a boring life if we agreed on everything....
  11. Dontcha just love that attitude? ' I've been ***** (insert skill of your choice) for 20 years and no-one can tell me nowt' The day you stop learning is the day you die, fella.
  12. The biology of the ferret is the same whether it's a worker or a pet. I don't see how advice that's good for pet ferrets isn't for workers. And as it used to say in the front of the Yorkshire Caving Guides....'this is for the guidance of the wise, not the obeyance of fools'
  13. Tried cat milk ONCE with mine. Gave 'em the trots, so don't bother any more. If they have a reasonable diet they don't need it anyway.
  14. Just looked at the item location (the receiver not the collar... and it's fookin Yorkshire! A county where people would rather part with teeth than money....
  15. Can't imagine anyone would have trouble finding a 16 foot orange ferret....
  16. Fine looking ferrets you've got there, Dru. Accommodation's a bit huge though.....wouldn't you be better off with a hutch or two at the bottom of the garden?
  17. Dead easy...strap 20kg to the back of the bike, bugger off home, open bag...... Mine get chicken wings occasionally, but if you'd discovered a rotting wing behind the sofa (thought it was my personal hygiene at first.... ) then your attitude to dry might mellow slightly.....
  18. Yep. Jill jab and spey. Sorted
  19. hey Dru, where do you get your tail wigs for your rat?
  20. Aaah, I see. Just like the chavs in my local estate....
  21. What happens in the wild, with feral ferret colonies where there isn't a tame human to seperate out the hob? Good to see someone not just following the herd. Excellent pictures, stubby
  22. Bollocks. I can drink beer and smoke tabs at the same time
  23. Slow learners? ASBO-ferrets? Mutant mong retards???
  24. Slightly off-topic, but something that intrigues me: Is there any difference in hunting ability between those litters where just the jill is left with the kits, and those where the hob is also present?
