My lurcher bitch took her first muntjac at two years old, messy affair though, she took it by the arse and wouldn't let go.Had to cull the deer with the dog still hanging on to its rump. She's far more skilled now,and doe's the job by herself. We only ever catch them by accident though.

Had a victory x spliced tip stick rod, best float rod i ever owned. They were about £100.00,but we're talkin 15 years ago,the other two rods are about the same age if memory serves me,i think they were about the same kind of money, but no where near the same quality as the shakespeare.hth

Cheers Haf,lets hope it is a good sign mate.I used to fish both sides of the channel untill 4or5 years ago.Was always fairly consistent for whiting and codling, the last time i fished at ladye bay,it was all pouting! not a cod or whiting to be seen.
-
Just wonderin if anyone knows how the welsh side of the channel is fishing from the shore.I used to fish Redwick a few years ago at this time of year, usually plenty of codling about, but i know its been pretty quiet the last few years.

Just wonderin if anyone else is suffering because of these bloody thing's?My Patt has been barking non stop since 6.30,ive now brought him in the house and put the radio on in the kitchen to try and calm him down,no f*****g luck.Even with the radio up loud he is still able to hear the fireworks ,and everytime theres a bang he goe's berserk. My lurcher bitch is in the kennel and couldn't give a monkeys, but i daredn't put the terrier back out.I know next door will be pee'd off if the dog keep's yapping.Any ideas?

I wouldn't try it meself mate. Not really the done thing with an air rifle (fac being different of course) even when i've crawled on me belly, ive never got within 50 yds of a hare.Personally i dont really give a monkeys what the basc think,i was a member, but got the impression they don't really give a f**k about airguns. Now insured through the cla, seems a much better deal seeing as i work my terrier and lurcher. As for the hare,i'd rather give it a go with a rimmy to be honest, imo.

Sorry to but in lads. What is actually happening is,pellets do NOT rise. From the moment the pellet leaves the muzzle it is DROPPING.The pellet flies in a downward arc, dropping more quickly as the pellet loses speed due to air resistance. If you zero the rifle at a given distance(say 30 yards)in order to hit the target zero you will actually have to shoot upwards to allow for the pellet dropping. Now if you draw a horizontal line between the scope and the target the pellet will actually cross that line twice (on the way up and on the way down)hence the scope will in effect have two zero points. My

A lot of pest control people use them for close range ratting, which they are great for but thats about it.Another prob is the co2 can's,the big can's will get the gun up near the 10ftlbs mark, but your looking at 5p a shot!Get yerself a good second hand springer or for a bit more dollar a pcp.A reasonable second hand springer would probably be just as cheap as a new ratty.

Had something similar happen a few months back, kept hitting the bunnys behind the eye(i thought) but some were sqealing and running away.Turned out the gun was fine but the skirts on some of the pellets were dinked,as they had been rattling around in a tin.Gun was then way down on power and the groups were s**t.Bought new pellets (jsb exacts) and a pellet pouch (don't put too many in the pouch though).Evreything seems fine now. Thank's mate.Compared to some of the outfit's some people are using it ain't that special.I take it everywhere mate, and my lad uses it on the range.I just give i

This is my tool of choice for lamping the bunney's and for sorting out the maggie's.It's .177 and will take care of fur or feather out to 50 yard's although i would'nt take a shot at more than 35.

Cheers baldie, spot on mate. Not saying a rimmy is the ideal tool either, just making the point that it's the absolute minimum that would do the job.(f*****g kid's eh!)

Can't believe what i'm reading here, shooting foxe's with a f*****g air rifle. Are you people for real?i've been shooting for 30 years and the only time i here of anything as big as charlie being shot with an air gun is when you read about it in the papers(chavs shooting dogs)Think you better learn a bit more about what you should be shooting with air rifle's.A rimmy is the very least you should be using on foxe's.No f*****g wonder we keep getting hastled by anti's with s**te like this. :realmad:

Lots of cheaper guns around mate, but like they say "you get what you pay for"don't have a rapid meself, but i know lots of lads who do.Whenever they do get rid of one its only to buy another rapid.Only prob's i know of are the mag, they are a bit fiddley and once they get a bit mucky they tend to jam up.

Well done Wilky, it's the side of hunting the f*****g anti's never listen to. :realmad: I don't go in for the bravado s**t meself,it's that kind of stuff that caused the ***. I was out shooting rabbits wednesday night,i caught a fox and vixen arse to arse with the lamp.I got within 15 yards before they parted company but you should of seen and heard them trying to separate, vixen shot off but old Charlie could hardly walk lol. There isn't really a problem with the foxes on this bit of land so i didn't really have the heart to put the gun to use. Each to there own i spose.
