  1. Some cracking photos people, don't think any of mine would be up to scratch after seeing some of these.
  2. Are we talking about the Mk 1 ? i buy cards of cheap AG12 and AG13 collar batteries and use them once and bin them, the locator has an on off switch so in theory when you switch off there should be no drain on the locator battery.I always make a point of using quality batteries i the locator.
  3. BeddyxWhippets are nearly always born black, regardless of the parents colour/markings.
  4. Looks well mate, and judging by the plates he could grow a bit yet.All the best with him.
  5. Slightly off topic, but i have noticed my BeddyxWhippet doesn't strike properly when theres another dog out with us.She will get up on the rabbits but seems to run past them with a half hearted strike and then looks back as if she's waiting for the other dog to come up behind her (she's never been ran doubled up).
  6. Too much petrol in diesel WILL cause engine damage.Diesel ignites under compression, petrol by ignition (spark) most petrol engines operate at compession ratios between 9-1 and 11-1,except certain modified race engines (high compression) which use very high octane petrol in order to control detonation, and high boost turbo engines (low compression).Diesel engines operate at compression ratios almost double that of petrol engines, having petrol in the diesel will lead to "pre ignition/detonation" which will damage piston heads, valve seats, cylinder chambers etc etc, (I spent many years machining,bu
  7. bill88 any pics of her Couple here mate. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...st&p=588427
  8. Let him be a pup mate, plenty of time for him to learn his trade. My BeddyxWhippet has a fantastic nose,if she marks a hole, you can be sure theres something in there, and when working cover she wont push on unless theres something in the cover.
  9. Chid i seen the evidence of what you did to that poor terrier last time Poor feckin thing Stripping a terrier is pretty straight forward, just use your first finger and thumb.I believe it helps if you bath or wet the dog first and then towel dry them, word of warning though,do little and often. If the dog doesn't get you the cramp in your fingers will.
  10. Kay sounds like your doing a good job mate. All sighthounds are different, salukis in particular look emaciated when there at there peak, with most of the ribs showing and the pin bones sticking up on the rear.My colliexgrey always looks heavy even when she's fully fit,and the BeddyxWhippet looks like skin and bone when she's fit.One thing i will say is mine are always on the heavy side in summer, mainly because they're not working, and because of the heat i tend to walk them less in the warmer months,by late September they'll be at there peak again. All the best,Bill
  11. As already said mate, most first cross BeddyxWhippets are blue/grey and rough or broken coated. Some are sandy/fawn coloured.Id hazard a guess that if the pup is dark at 9 weeks it will be more than likely blue/grey.
  12. How old is the pup? most beddyxwhippets are born black and change at 6-9 weeks. My bitch is sand coloured with a small white chest flash, her sire was a pied coloured whippet and the dam a blue Beddy.HTH's
  13. Mine get walked about 5-6 mile a day,but because they run about like headless chickens, they are probably doing nearer 20 miles
  14. My old Hancocks bitch, retired now but a very capable dog in her day.I didn't buy this dog ,but inherited her after a change in my brothers circumstances.
  15. If i send you my address could you send me a couple
  16. If you cant beat them, join them....................lol Oh shit,i've been rumbled
  17. Reason is simple mate,he's a puppy farmer. The man clearly has a great understanding of collie crosse's and has over the years produced some fine dogs, but his methods now leave a bad taste in my mouth. If a dog is earning its keep in whatever way,it should be well cared for and rewarded, not kept caged up as a "rent a womb".I have no problem with David Hancock earning a living from his knowledge of dogs, but i'm sure it could be done differently. As i always say,it's just my opinion and what the f*ck do i know? My old man kept bred and worked collie x greys for nearly 50 years,as far as my old man
  18. Thing that bothers me is why we should pay for there gimp suits and sex lube,f*cking out of order if you ask me.
  19. Absolutely spot on there mate,i have an old Hancocks bitch here that was a very capable dog in her day,and i have seen plenty of decent grafters come from his kennels,in fact a mate of a mate told me that the Hancocks dog he had in the early 90's was the best fox dog he ever owned.Would i buy a dog from Hancocks? absolutely not.
  20. Sounds like every JRT belonging to an old boy i remember as a kid malt I remember one up the road from me that had a hair lip,so it looked like it was snarling all the time and you were never sure whether to touch it or not

    getting bit

In the pain stakes,i reckon my two worst were fox and cat,for blood and damage a squirrel once had blood squirting from my middle finger and it went very nasty. In the insect/creature world,a two foot long bad tempered King ragworm had me squealling like a girl And when searching for peeler crab for bait,an angry common shore crab can make your eyes water a bit.
  23. My two black dogs are completely different, the bitch is soft as shite around people and very friendly with other dogs. The dog on the other hand,is something else, while he is also like a puppy around people, and kids, and 100% around stock,he cannot be let near any dog he's not familiar with.On a number of occasions at gamefairs he has locked on to other dogs that have got within range, and now i don't take him anywhere without being muzzled.

    Moto GP

Best race ive seen in years, not since some of the Rossi Gibernau battles of 03-04 have we seen edge of the seat stuff like that.Made my day seeing that arrogant twat Stoner get a taste of his own medicine,he's made some dodgy and dangerous moves on other riders plenty of times, and then has the cheek to refuse Rossi's hand saying that rossi was too aggressive.Rossi is the cleanest safest rider in Moto GP,and a real sportsmen. Rossi is the King If Stoner and Rossi were given the same bike,Rossi would beat him every time.Stoners riding style just happens to compliment a bike that is producing
