  11. Hi All, Just wondered if any other residents of Staffordshire have seen a Red Kite. I know they are not rare in some parts, but I saw my first in this county on Saturday near to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas. Before anyone says I do know the difference between a buzzard and a kite!! Look forward to hearing about any other sightings Ade
  12. Hi All, Wonder if any of you can offer any help. I have a pup coming soon, which will be kennelled outside. I have a wooden kennel and run and wondered if anyone knew where I could source some of the metal that people use to stop the pup chewing the exposed edges inside the kennel. Any help much appreciated, thanks Ade

  15. Good read that, enjoyed it Ade
  16. I usually leave mine at least a year. Although if you wanted one for beating or something not too fancy I would perhaps bring one inside to dry that bit quicker. Don't let it get too warm though or it will split, then you could leave it as long as possible before working on it just before you needed it. If you cut some more each year then you always have some to work on when the mood takes you. Ade
  17. I have exactly the same issue with my Fabarm Eurolion, my gun will NOT cycle 65mm cartridges at all!!! 67mm or longer cartridges are no problem whatsoever, so my advice is stick with the longer cartridges Ade

  21. All, My Dad (whose nearly 70 )has been cage trapping a few grey squirrels in his garden that have been making a nuisance of themsleves round his bird feeder's. You know the score emptying them out and ripping the mesh and generally being annoying. Well today, my Mom went to answer a knock at the door and found herself facing 2 RSPCA 'inspectors', who said they had been made aware that squirrels were being trapped and wanted to know 'how he disposes of the caught ones' (Which he does by shooting them with an air rifle incidentally) My Dad not knowing any better and being a law abding
  22. Well done Martin. Fantastic write up, a great read and good news on the hare as well Ade
