[ Tyson was on a downward spiral by the time he fought Lewis What and Lewis wasnt....Lewis was 38 had 1 more fight then retired. [/ Maybe so but Lewis was in a Better place mentally and physically most heavyweights would have fancied themselves against Tyson at that stage.

Not at all mate that's a lovely hawk.....is that a couple of coots you have there? -
Your local leisure centre will want around 12 pound per hour for the hire of a tennis court. It costs virtually nothing to play football.....it costs virtually nothing to box........pretty self explannatory really if your 2 young 12 year old boys out for an aftenoon of sport......but potentially they could well have a talent for playing tennis. All sport should be easily accessible to all kids in any area in my opinion. spot on.... i seem to remember reading somwere that our kids in secondry school do about 2 hours of sport a week excluding after school clubs,,, i think im right

A lovely ol fella who used to train boxers once said to me " every human being has a talent for something, its just finding out what it is " ....I also believe we all have a talent be it sport,entertaining,academically,whatever.......it just often never gets realised. How many naturally gifted footballers are sitting in offices not knowing it......your absolutely right And good as Murray is didn't he have to go abroad to realise that potential?

lol very true but not many birds that size would be either -
You say that but yes i do believe where you are raised makes a big difference in some sports......Some sports like football or boxing can lift kids out of the shit.......would Tim Henman or Andy Murray have played lawn tennis had they grown up on the Silwood Estate Bermondsey....no......would David Haye have boxed had he been brought up in a leafy Surrey suburb, probably not.......the greatest sportsmen this country have ever produced did not come from money, thats a fact......the beauty of 90% of sport is it has no boundaries.....pretty much anybody can be succesful regardless of background.

America certainly dont have the reputation for boxing they once had....why do you think they have no interest in the world heavyweight championship. Infact id go as far as to say Mexico probably have double the amount of world champions America have at this moment, and good old Britain are probably only a few behind them.....America lead the world at sports only played in America Spose your right and thats one of the reasons the heavyweight division is so poor at the moment all the fight money is in the lower weight divisions now
-
What popular sports do America lead the world at ? Rounders...erm mean baseball...until a few yr ago tennis they have some good boxers
-
The thing is mate America pride themself on their scholarships and university leagues, but thats in sports that only they play !.....we can all invent a sport and say we,re the best at it but if no other c**t plays it thats not all that impressive is it. All parts of the world have their own popular sports, football is the most watched and played sport in the world yet none of the countries you mentioned are any good at it......its nothing to do with lack of funding its to do with dedication and hard work....look at the former eastern block countries if you want to see what dedication and hard

6ft isnt that much trouble for a decent sized Lurcher my 23 inch bitch will do 6ft no probs

Very true, we should withdraw from the EU with billions of pounds saved per year maybe it would even cover the deficit! Taxing that fart that owns top shop would wipe out the deficit ...Its all smoke and mirrors this pension debate
-
Correct....for a nation the size of Britain we are by far the most succesful nation in world sport....you can fit England into the state of Texas with room to spare....England are rated 4th ( crazy i know ) in the world by Fifa at football,we regularly compete in champions league football finals,we have a world heavyweight champion boxer,a top 4 in the world tennis player, the best snooker players the game has ever seen, the most succesful sportsman in history in Phil Taylor ( if you class darts/snooker as sports that is ) and numerous other champions in other sports.....we are hosting the 2012

So where should the shortfall come from, should the tax payer take up the slack or should you put a bit more away each money? No it should be taken from the fuckers who caused the problem in the first place....THE BANKERS.....The private sector aint blameless either it was in the 90's I think where a lot of private sector worker took a pension break because of the boom...now the Public Sector are being asked to pick up the tab....Just where would you slash public sector jobs then?

Alot stems from the "Non competitive" sports crap at school. A friend at work's young girl had her sports day last week, everyone taking part won a prize. Whats that FFS. I used to hate coming second or last but it made me try harder. Perhaps if competitivness was to be encouraged a little more, we would have more top class sports people. Agree mate there appears to be no real desire....a lot appear content to live of the sponsorship and endorsements
-
By that measure he would never be Oh he's won plenty of games just not the important ones

Hang on a minute, Murray is scottish. I've no problem with supporting our british sports men/women but when they come out openly stating that they don't follow the same sort of support I personally hope they fail. As for the British sportsmen who just can't cut it at the top I think it stems down to how our sports are handle or the lack of it at the early ages.Until we invest in the youth and push them like other countries we will never be able to compete So you think lack of investment is the prob...what about those who have the money and access to top facilities. I forgot Mur
