  1. Yes the ground is open, with a few trees and drystone walls not much else in the way of cover, just large hilly grass fields.
  2. Just rang them to see if the lands passed,if so for what calibre they said the land is not on the system so they've said to me post all the relevant paperwork to them and they will take it from there.
  3. I don't live in that area it's a hour and 15 from me...my FAC is done by another force not the one covering this new ground. Ive got a open ticket for the rimfire though.
  4. I've just got a new permission on a moorland farm in the Peak District,it's 40 acres of hills, flat ground and moor. The farmer wants foxes, crows and magpies shooting due to him having sheep etc I was just wondering which calibre would be ideal? I have a FAC with a .22 rimfire on,but I think something a little bit bigger might help. It is also windy up here most days. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
  5. I had a spider in my ferret shed,I used to catch flies in the house, then go and feed my new pet ?
  6. Yes I've heard he's having a empty this weekend ?
  7. I make the loop 71/2" long and 6" wide, that gives me a nice big loop to play with so it covers all the run,set at 9-10" depending on the ground, set over the middle of the beat same as for a rabbit.
  8. Rabbit snares used for hares are normally set at 9-10"+,more or less the same height as a fox snare hence the catches of hares in fox wires.
  9. Micky,I don't let them go once I've caught them, like I said only do this field twice a year.
  10. Get rid of you guns then,no point keeping them if there's nothing left to shoot lol A snare is a hell of a lot cheaper and it don't need thermal/night vision ?
  11. Cheers pal ? Used to watch the odd course myself back before the ban ?
  12. All chopped up and in the freezer, quite a bit of meat as well?
  13. Cheers Tomo A few nice meals on the cards soon, and the ferrets will dine well too ??
  14. They can easily scroll past?? theres a clue in the title what the posts about ?
  15. Fancied a hare for dinner,so set some wires yesterday, checked this morning picked 4 up. Only do this field twice a year, just take a few hares for the table.
