  4. Hi all, The pup is coming on after three weeks in all areas bar one. She will now sit at the click of your fingers her retrieving is getting better. She will now sit and wait by her food until told she can eat it. I'm not after praise here it's what I would expect of a pup after three weeks. As I have said I have always kept working terriers and due to the nature of their work I have always ragged them. Now I believe thatthis helps control their agression as I have always trained them to calm down quickly as in my book if you are going to wind a dog up you need to no how to calm it dow
  5. SNAP!! Dont worry too much nailer, its still very early days, ya pups had a big change by the sound of it, id let her settle in a for a bit then im sure it will all fall in to place. exactly... nailer are you keeping her indoors or outside??? If shes indoors just spend plenty of time with her but letting her do her own thing. If she's outside let her in the kitchen so she can get used to you and the misses. then just put a bit of routine into her life like feed her at the same time, that sort of thing and as I said plenty of contact. She'll come good mate you'll see

  12. Ok so I have an 8 week old Beddy/whippet, and I was talking to a fella down the pub who said I should be ragging the bitch as much as possible. Personally I want the bitch for day time work with the odd bit of lamping. I'm trying to produce a soft mouthed dog who will retrieve without a fight to get the rabbit off her. I know his dogs and he has had some good hauls but do you think this is a good way to start a pup considering what I want her for????
