  1. Put the limpets in 2 pints of water with 4 teaspoons of salt. Leave to soak for 24 hours. Boil for 1 hour in salted water. Drain and discard water. Discard limpets. Buy fish and chips eat or something else more palatable. Seriously they are not even that good as bait. If starving then eat them, otherwise spend your effort on something else.
  2. Here the rabbits on the council golf course and a big graveyard are controlled by shooting. Both are shot only at night/dawn and are always closed to the public by locking the gates etc. outside normal hours. Liability insurance is mandatory and its bloody hard to get on the (very short) list of permitted people. Just a thought, but I'm not sure I would want to eat a rabbit that has fed on plants growing in landfill. On some housing estates built on recent landfill your not supposed to grow your own veg because of contamination of the soil.
  3. Twas the front scope mount. Bracket/screws bottoming out coincided with the clamp being barely nipped on. Not loose exactly but not tight either. I only noticed it because I started to dismantle everything out of frustration and loosened the rear mount first.
  4. From about a mile - if you drop them onto a rabbit from a plane. I'll get me coat
  5. But isn't 1 Joule the same as 1 Newton/Meter? And aren't ft/lb, joules and N/M all measurements of translational kinetic energy?
  6. I'm not having a dig, far from it but I think your preaching to the choir mate.
  7. In answer to the original question - professionals - period. The latter - bannana bunch and Tiswas (Sally James )
  8. Thats fascinating, this site is a wealth of info.
  9. Thanks for the replies so far. I wont get a chance to try again until Sunday, and I'll take a second scope with me and try that if all else fails as the one on the gun is brand new. I was hoping that the FN19 would have some well known problem that causes such a wierd problem - like a loose figure of 8 bracket or some screw in the action etc. The two subgroups which comprise the group are extremely precise one hole groups, just the 20 mm between them thats the problem LOL When I find the answer I'll post it up in case its a help to anyone else.
  10. Same here with the small velcro plate. ZX9-R
  11. Quite possible, except its just this rifle not my other. I'm quite aware of my pulse changing my aim, not just breathing.
  12. I ensured that I minimised any movement. All shots were taken indoors @ measured 25 meters without shifting my forearm, body or foot position. The gun/scope was kept us upright each time. The two groups kind of evolved slowly. If you shot a 3 or 5 group it just looked loose. Only when you started to do 10 plus did it become obvious there were actually 2 very good groups side by side. Scope, barrel, stock is all tight. The sad part is my micky mouse crosman co2 can shoot just as well or better
  13. No lube but fresh from a new tin. Quick vusual for damage.
  14. Side by side, perfectly horizontal. The quoted groups is JSBs only. My first thought was slack reticule, but there is loads of adjustment left, it close to being central in fact.
  15. Can anyone offer some insight to a problem I'm having? I have a Falcon FN19 in .22, with a 3-9x50 scope. Using JSB Exact pellets, and =< 12ftlbs. Accupels produced about 30% flyers. At first I thought that it was grouping poorly, but using a rest and shooting 20+ pellets for each test it seems I get two seperate cloverleaf groups at 25 meters. Both groups are about 5mm center to centre and seperated by about 20mm. The scope has loads of vertical adjustment left, its not topped out at all, and the effect is not so much a horizontal string as two definite groups. Scope mounts etc
  16. Looks good to me. Jap + bits of US? Had a few street fighters, current bike is pretty standard. Just engine, pipe and suspension mods. ZX9-R + tuning is more than enough nowadays and comfy enough. enjoy
  17. Born '66 Couldnt agree more, almost raised a tear of nostalgia. Kids today want their entertainment, food and even life in a packet. Those graduates with placement years are, year on year, becoming dimmer, or to be more accurate their education is less balanced and more focused at the detriment of their well being. They don't even know they are being short changed bless em.
  18. Are you shooting from air into just a couple of feet of water, or shooting totally underwater? Looks like your shooting from boat or pier. I had a pnuematic one with a high pressure pump which was a useful and powerful tool. The spears had hinged barbs inches long to prevent the fish wriggling off. The elastic powered things from the local seaside shops are quite gutless, only fit for taking smallish fish just under the surface. Think of something like a barnett slingshot Ebay is probably the best bet.

No my tatoo is on my arse as a barcode No really, I spend other peoples money and so I'm accountable. Dell have been totally reliable in my commercial and personal experience. If you know of a crippling problem which covers the dell range of machines I would love to know as it may save me embarressment in the future.

If you need it right now HP is available from PCWorld. But if you want value for money and a PC that lasts beyond warranty get a Dell. I always use Dell servers and desktops at work and have no problems. The handfull of HPs I've inherited have all gone tits up with few exceptions.

Haven't you just breached rule 7? I would amend 8 to include respect as well as pay, and add 11. build more prisons. Problem is that democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding whats for dinner, and if you travel enough you will see that people like you (and I guess me) are nowadays more likely to be in the position of the lamb.
  23. I guess the title says it all. Mature (ahem...) guy. Been hooked since my Dad took me to a clay shoot XXX moons ago. Been out the loop the last 5 years, let ticket go. Got a PCP recently to deal with fricken rats and the lure of powder is becoming too hard to resist!!! Shame my dogs too old to be much use anymore
  24. I've got one that I use on rats close up, for which its OK. Pros: nice and light compared to a proper pcp. accurate enough sub 30 yards err.... did I mention its light? Cons: fragile with a thin exposed barrel way too expensive new no scope grooves as standard first shot from a fresh co2 cylinder can be anywhere from just a few FPS to full power, after that about 10-15 good shots. I've no doubt up close it would be adequate, but I wouldn't want to rely on it.
