  2. Id go back to the vet who carried out the operation show him/her that the dewclaws have grown back he/she will know that the operation was not done right as the root has been left in the leg im almost certain the vet will put it right free of charge if he/she does not then contact trading standards as you have paid for a service which he/she has failed to carry out correctly.
  3. Here is a link to her sire's pedigree she is show bred on her sire's side what is the Dams name ? http://thewhippetarchives.net/details.php?id=81015
  4. Good with the sale of your dog mate for all in the know take a look at the KC championship shows very few will carry the blood you won't name but very many will fail to go under the measuring stick & the whippets that can go under the measuring stick don't get a look in
  5. You never fancied trying a ped whippet driller killer they come in all colours ?
  6. No need to rag any pup best option is a ball of screwed up paper get the pup retrieving this first then a rabbit skin rolled up with elastic bands around it to hold it in shape then as the pup grows wrap the skin around a plastic bottle this way you can increase the weight of the dummy by adding water/sand to the bottle.
  7. Mrs Wainman previously Bond-Gunning (Laguna Whippets) does not breed very often so direct source will be harder to come by.
  8. At 16 months old he is not much more than a puppy he won't lamp because he does not know what lamping is or what you expect from him make a rabbit skin dummy play with him with the dummy get him to retrieve the dummy once thats going well take him in the garden at night hold the dog throw the dummy then light up the dummy with a lamp or torch encourage him to go & pick up his dummy if he does this make a big fuss with loads of praise continue the same thing for a few days & all will start to click in the day drag the dummy tied on a pole in front of the dog encourage him to chase the d
  9. A well bred well trained FIT whippet will do everything a whippet cross will do & as for foot problems you will mostly find foot problems in whippets run with long nails or unfit whippets also have a very good nose.

  13. Care as to be taken i have found [bANNED TEXT] using this method as some whippets can easily be whipped[pardon the pun] into a frenzy. The two wippets i have wittnesed with my own eyes have gon up to squating rabbits and nudged them so they would run its baffeld me.atvb I have seen this many times mostly with Mixi rabbits the way i got round it was dragging a dead rabbit in front of the dog then constantly throwing the dead rabbits for the dog to run up to & retrieve.
  14. Some of the dogs take as long as 3 years before you get the best from them most bitches start much earlier best option to gee the dog up is a rabbit/hare skin tied to the end of a pole gets the dog chasing & striking they soon pick up after that.
  15. He is comming on well, only time will tell though. Are you comming up to the Lure Coursing in Edinburgh in August? All being well it was a top day last time at Stirling
  16. The third is our new pup, Murphy. He is roughly 4-5 months old and his obediance is comming on well. He was bred from racing stock. His sire was WRCA Evansent and his dam was Parkstone True Blue. He seems aloty lighter built than the other two and has a racy frame. Thisn he is going to be quick and he is very fiesty. I know this breeding well WRCA Evansent is a fast dog & Parkstone True Blue is a cracking bitch i used her brother Parkstone Black Gold on a sooty sam bitch & the pup i kept was 20 yards faster than his dam my mate owned their grandsire Rowangarth Dawn Wind & he w
  17. I have her mothers sister & she is just like the dog you describe yet Missy who is a daughter of Cast No Shadow is so laid back you would not think they were of the same blood.
  18. She sounds like she will give you plenty of sport this season.
  19. i bought my whippet bitch to lamp the mega fast rabbits on my short fields and golf courses. How do you find her on this land ? Is her dam Dark Charm/Cast No Shadow or All Black & Beautifull ?
  20. I asked my vet a similar question almost 20 years ago & 10 years later i asked a vet who had bought a pup from me both gave the same answer they said 2-3 years old was the best time to breed the first litter as the pelvic bones are very supple at this age but they start to set by 4-5 which can cause whelping problems later on.
