anybody got any ideas on when the mackerel are in around the east coast of scotland around the montrose area

got my first batch of day olds last tuesday next lot came today last bunch coming next tuesday then ducks mid july as poults all go at the min and i hate them already lol

dont see what harm there is in it i too would be intreasted to see if there is many keepers on the site as well as the rest of the fieldsportsman who use the site.

i always take the opertunity to shoot them tricky things though, bought my self a 17 hmr and that seems to do the trick when they are sitting in the woods seem to sit okay at 100 yards try to get nearer and they are of also done well in a strips of oaks sit and wait at day break flight them in to the trees also seenthem come down to one that i have shot and use as a decoy gets them closer enough for the bennellie to deal with them lol

i used to work for a head keeper and he was the same sort of stamp if i surgested some think to him his reply was "you are paid to work not to think that is his job" lot of good that did him 15 years ago was a head keeper now he is part time and now im the single handed boy -
40%aint bad. you dont say why he is getting funny with you? maybe if you spoke and asked him what and where he would like you to do might help after all he is paid to do the job maybe he feels your trying to take over maybe he is in secure and has a small willie who knows but dont tar all keepers with the same brush some of use arnt that bad

yes the black bitch is 5/8 grey 3/8 bull about 20 month i think, she is starting to come on now should make a good alround dog :thumbs-up:

i agree with rag with regards to rearing of grey partridge if you have greys on the ground do not realease greys . released greys are nasty birds they will drive out any wild greys and the reared ones are dumb and do not rear hardly any chicks. i am fortunate to have wild greys and the only reason is that i hammer the vermin and create lots of good ground for nesting and feeding of wild greys but also have a large numbers of reared pheasants which is the main draw for the shooters with the selection of greys through out the drives. as for rearing of birds with broodies , yes, crack on with

i was out with rag and to be honest found the deben locator crap was not that good not as accurate and hated the noise of it should have got a bell and flintman

Theyve been here a long time they nest in and around welbeck abbey in the midlands smart looking bird what i mean is that the migration has just starting they have been in britain for years now

looks liKe it may be a honey buzzard seen a few in moray they have just started to migrate in to the country from abroad but i may be wrong

started keepering in 91 still at it now did controled demolation for a few weeks between jobs but thats it now keeper and salmon ghillie when needed

i used to work in moray andwe used to have a pair of honey buzzards there seen them digging up wasp-bumble bee nest ,seen them up to october then never seen them till the spring dont no if they went on there holidays or were just hidding :11:

get this weeks shooting times a big right up about 17hmr rounds i use fedral great bullet never worry about the price myself dont go for cheap bullets always wonder if they are cheap what are they lacking?

a mate of mine gose to canada every year and says its great fun 300 snow geese decoys and a hundred duck decoys and they get ducks and geese coming in their hundreds but they have bag limmits i think it is 20 snows 8 grey gesse and 8or 10 ducks per person per day but dont qoute me on it
