  2. was just £35 for the one that made medal the other was free of charge. They changed the drying period from 90 to 30 as they reckon it didn't make much difference in weight change. you been out much?
  3. Went up to see Chris Rodgers in thetford to get my heads scored. 1st buck I shot back in June on my 1st morning didn't make the grade scoring 99.48 cic 2nd buck from second morning made 122.03 scoring a silver medal I'm absolutely chuffed to bits. once again big thanks to Matt for having me down.

  12. I might be younger mate but wasn’t feeling fitter lol not used to the hills very flat here in Essex. Be really happy if my heads make a medal. Think the weights should be ok it’s just how they score the rest I suppose. Both seem quite symmetrical the smaller one has a lot of pearling and quite thick coronets as does the other one but lacking in somewhat on the pearling. They work the mass out by dipping the antlers in the water?
  13. Plenty of YouTube videos showing ya mate. But pretty much leave in water helps draw out all the blood over night. Obviously skin the head and cut off as much flesh as you can. Boil the head slowly making sure the antler isn’t in the water and keep an eye on it n you’ll see once the flesh coming off. Then spoon knife screwdriver wire that sort of thing to pick off all the s meg and Shit n brains. N then jet wash but be careful not to viceroys around the Basel cavity
  14. Spoke to a cic measurer and it’s now 30 days apparently??
  15. Yeah you know mate I would have been proper gutted if he slipped into the woods at the top. Quite surprised he didn’t move on considering how early on he caught us out.

  19. After a long night we ended up needing to recharge our batteries for longer than we anticipated and ended up getting out quite a bit later than expected at around 6.45 ? thinking the better part of the morning may have been and gone we decided a quick coffee to wake us up was needed then a quick look around at a farm only 5 mins down the road was our best option. On the way there the weather seemed to be in our favour being a smidge colder than the previous morning and we hoped this might have kept the deer from moving around so quickly. On arrival we could see a doe and her fawn slowly moving
  20. Having virtually a baron year of stalking and absolutely desperate to get out I was lucky to get a phone call from my somerset pal seeing if I was free for a weekend of stalking. Obviously I was very excited to get down and enjoy the company and the somerset countryside. After a 3 hour trip down and settling into my bed and breakfast, a plan for a 4am start had been arranged. Alarm set for 3.20 up for a quick coffee and met Matt at a pub and then we were on our way to the 1st farm to scan the hedgelines and meadows hopefully for a nice buck for my wall. On arrival to 1st field a fox had starte
