well i never got onto smoochers, so i cant comment on the content, but i have to say that it was held highly by all that had access. so where to now? will there be more forums that go the way of "selected members only" i hope so, and i hope that if this is the case then those who are not invited never find out for our own reasons. If you are ever fortunate to be a member of such, keep ur mouth shut, what the anti assholes dont know wont hurt them... and atleats you can have a decent discussion without them twisting what you say... as you all know its not hard to misunderstand what someone

really crappy pic, but heres one of my roo dog at 9 ish months old my mates got a few more pics of her retrieving rabbits but hasnt developed the films yet. Hes just got a digi cam so that shouldnt be a issue in the future she's 27" to top of back, not sure if she's exactly deer x grey. but she was a roo dog x deerhound. The roo dog may of had whippet or working dog in it, im not sure.. he did say that the roo dog came from a long line of roo dogs tho.

thats some damn good advice mate now i dont have much experience with the breeds, but i have spoken to a few guys that have many years under their belt with staghounds(thats what the long coated roo dogs are called, roo dogs are the short coat variety, but they are used interchangeably.) I do know what you mean about the calmness, but when they are on, they are totally different. i didnt exactly explain everything perfect in my previous post, i was at work, as i am now so was a bit pressed for time. the reason i said possibly saluki blood was as they came from a hot climate i

i would say deer x greys are some of the most common sighthounds used for hunting here in australia. historically speaking, when the kangaroo was hunted with dogs they found the greyhounds got ripped far to often, and their feet left much to be desired. They crossed gh and deerhound, therefore giving a bigger dog with tougher skin which was still fast enough to run down and kill a boomer. Up to 7 feet tall they can stand, and over 80kilos. I dont know how much you know about kangaroos but here is some info - they will go to water and drown dogs - we have clocked them up to 60kph(32mp

what sort of phone is it, some phone brands are very bad with adsl etc try another brand of filter some filters and phones dont mix as well as they could hope that helps

if it ever happens again, and i hope it doesnt look at her gums and tounge, if they are blue then they have overheated, or over done it here in australia is different, but even on a cool day dogs can cook themselves, depends on the humidity etc where in the world are ya mate? hot over in the UK is differnt to here, so by saying hot i dont know what ya mean hot here is 45degrees celcius(actually thats referred to as f****n hot lol)

banana peel, put it on warts and they will go away, just bandage it on and change it every day BUT i dont know if this works with dogs, it works a treat with humans anyone know anything about this with dogs????

lol mate sydney is quite a few days drive from here tho
-
we dont really have many rats here in australia so they are not a priority once again thanks for the info
-
cheers for the info is it a certain time when they are in season that you have to mate, or just when them come on at any time? would be nice to have my own little line of ferrets, the female i got is rather big for a female, or thats what my mate says anyway, biggest he has ever seen shes a silver mitt, the male my mate owns is a polecat both have excellent temperaments(mate says best he's ever seen) they never bite anyone and are a real pleasure to have in company
-
cheers millet I got my ferret the same time as all the other breeders were advertising ferrets here in western australia so i guess she'll come in season in a few months when its spring im gonna have to find a snipped hob to bring her out of season or would you say a jill on her first season would be ok to be put into kit?

good stuff mate, like the look of the dog

one of australias first dogs, if not the first dog that was created in australia(im sure it was the first but cant backup with evidence at the moment) was the australian kangaroo dog ive seen pictures from the 1800's and early 1900's of roo dogs, basically they looked very greyhoundish, some were a lot bigger then a greyhound basically they were greyhound crossed with deerhound, bred like that you can get smoothcoats and long coats, even from the same litter.

gday mate are u talking terriers or lurchers? thanks for your comments anyone else got anything to add?
-
hi guys ive read heaps of stuff on the net on ferrets but... nothing that says at what age they mature, what age they stop growing or what age the jills will come into season can you enlighten me on this?
-
or a bit of a half wit :11:
-
Gday guys, just after some info on slow starters you have had... did you find they wouldnt work one animal but would another? did they show any sign or were they completely oblivious to the game i have a dog at the moment(dont know the line) that will happily chase rabbits, but wont go near foxes(not exepcting her to chase just have a look at the dead ones) or anything larger, most dogs here in australia are chasing larger quarry at 7-9 months, thats the way it has always been here

i feed a good quality biscuit, kangaroo meat, sheep offcuts, feral goat, rabbit they get the meat rotated depending on what i have at the time, mostly however it is either roo meat or sheep flap, i find sheep flap helps them put on weight roo meat will get them looking really good. all u's have to do is import a couple hundred roos to the UK and u'll be sweet :11:

cheers for the tips, went ferreting on the weekend, dog seems to be fine with the ferrets, she was more interested in finding the bunnies then the ferrets, shes starting to work things out
