  1. unfortunately the mrs isn;t stupid and knows her dogs and horses, she's hunted for years so blagging her with a lurcher pup aint gonna happen....i dont think!? thansk for all the resposnes! has anyone got any more pics of grey's working?
  2. so i've been on about getting a lurcher for ages...but i already have 3 dogs! and the mrs doesnt "really like lurchers" apparantly! but she let slip that she likes greyhounds....A LOT! does anyone ever use them for work as opposed to racing? any info would be much appreciated.
  3. good pics there mate, give a smile next time!
  4. haha fair play! i spoke to the guy he is really sound and said that if it didn't work he would give me my money back! he's more than confident in them. Hey , i got it today, it looks the part, tho i think it sounds like an instament from a cracker, i will give it a go but i dont think it will top the brass button call type. ha ha same here got mine as well along with a red filter i ordered...gonna get out next weeek. the dogs didnt like me playing with it!
  5. really good pics there mate looks like it was a good day out, lovely dogs too!
  6. jesus! imagen trying to carry that lot around when your only after a few rabbits for the ferrets! haha
  7. haha fair play! i spoke to the guy he is really sound and said that if it didn't work he would give me my money back! he's more than confident in them.
  8. the service at sportman gun centre is SH*T mate! a bunch of kids generally speaking last time i went in there. i had ordered a new tikka from them ...cut a long story short the service was bad so i got them to refund my deposit and i actually bought it £60 cheaper from helston gunsmith!!!!! also i would agree with above and buying a second hand cz.452LR i did buy my 452 new but looking back i should have put the cash towards my stalking rifle instead. there is some really good deals on www.guntrader.co.uk for .22LR's
  9. trigger kits are available here not sure if they will be the one you are looking for though! http://www.rimfiremagic.co.uk/
  10. right then people i have just ordered a spanking tikka T3 lite in 6.5x55 as my new set up, so as soon as my variation is through i'm out stalking and foxing ASAP! so i have just bought a fox call from this chap: http://www.foxcalluk.co.uk/ who owns one and what other calls do you have??? PS: i can squeak on the hand but when they start coming in my mouth dries up and it all goes to crap!
  11. i havent read all fo the other comments but let me tell you this: if none if us got buck fever we would never have got hooked on deer stalking! its the first deer you shoot and the rush you get that has you hooked for life! it does calm with age and the more deer you shoot the less you should get it. and you will start to to take a more controlled / professional approach. if you stalk rarely then it is unlikely it will calm down.
  12. who give a sh*t if he feeds it to ferrets? it would have been full of shot anyway! fair play for your nights work mate, keep it up. people on here are all to quick to give their opinions and turn a decent thread in to a fight.
  13. i have just got a variation to swap my .308 for a 6.5x55 flat shooting and not alot of recoil. I have seen my mates sauer loaded with 120g ballistic tip home loads flatten red deer mate.
  14. AH ! flooded warrens didnt think of that! nice one lads.
  15. Ok so i have been for my first stalk this morning just to see what the score is, i went with a friend and having a bit of a mooch we came across some slots that were sort of like deer but bigger. loads of fox tracks in the soft mud etc. we stalked all of the ground but we didn't see anything but a lot of slots all over the places and some very work rides as well, my mate nearly had a heart attack when i told him to peer over one of the hedges and he saw about 40 red hinds - shame they were the other side of the boundary in the confines of the venison farm fence! hahahaha but none the less
  16. hi bully probably going to be ion you area towards then of the month i'll be sure to let you know and come "tooled up" to give you hand. thanks for the advice there mate.
  17. yep we'll get some pics sorted kallem and get them on here and see what the lads ( and ladies) think.
  18. kallem is a friend of mine, planning of taking him rough shooting and maybe lamping next week, if we get anything we'll be sure to post up some pics!
  19. glad its not just me then in that case! my poor ferrets are not impressed with the lack of resh meat!
  20. been out lamping and over 3 night i have only shot 5 rabbits! and only seen about 8! hanyone else finding the same thing?
  21. the is a good review in his months sporting rifle mate
  22. i would put for use of vermin / fox control. Loads of peole will tell you that you wont get fox on your ticket for .22LR.....but i did on my first application, although it isn't really a the right tool for foxes, 99% of people on here will have shot foxes with both of the calibers. good luck
