  1. I went last year very good day out and a lot of nice dogs
  2. Took the dogs for a walk in the woods this morning before I went work as I do every morning on entering the woods I noticed a crow behaving very erratic and so did my dogs. As we got closer my black bitch flew into a load of bracken I thought at first it might be a cat next minute a large fox came flying out with my black bitch right up its jacksy my other dog then joined the chase through three or four back gardens .They headed towards the front street I then heard consistant barking as I ran towards where the noise was coming from I could see them lunging underneath a car parked in a drivew
  3. I had afell cross greyhound some years back it looked a bit odd he was totally uncontrolable no matter how much training I put into him obviously took the headstong terrier side but a very srong dog ; very fond of mutton.
  4. due to a massive influx of buzzards in my area I have noticed a dramatic drop in the number of rabbits . I travell between glasgow and edinburgh most days the most Ive counted was ten on a forty mile stretch. I have also noticed the amount of rabbits I used to see on the the edge of the roads feeding have decreased dramaticaly. I now travel fifteen miles to a golf course to get work for my dogs due to the bunny shortage in my area. Ive even thought of reintroducing them to areas near where I live but dont know if Id be wasting my time.pigeon men in my area also cant beleive what they are seei
  5. she is a lovely dog good luck your doing the right thing as you can ruin the line by putting the wrong dog over her.
  6. nice looking dogs youve got there they look quite whippety simmilar stamp as my own dogs.

I see where your coming from the whippet is a very game little dog which probably stems from its bull terrier ancestory most of them giving 100% in the field .Brindle is also a very common colour which is also a telltale sign they also have their down side being injury prone and do burn out quicker than youre collie type lurchers .I own a beddlington whippet 20ins great burst of speed and hunts like a demon never tried her on a hare allways thought she was to small but after what youve said its changed my veiw .   8. slip I agree with you about smaller type dogs especialy wene hunting places with a cover they get to places bigger dogs cant.
  9. rabbits are not as easy as alot of people think nice dogs

  11. good day by the sound of it what type of lurcher is that in the photo its very similar to my own .
  12. I would reccomened skye I went there last year rented a cottage total isolation plenty of deer about we also had a small loch behind the cottage full of wild brownies.It was also teeming with rabbits the dogs had a ball. goodluck tom
  13. please correct me if Im wrong here Ive had this discution with many dog men.My two lurchers reached their full height at the age of seven months both small type twenty and twenty two inches to the shoulder.Or can this vary depending on type .
  14. hi my name is tom I live in east kilbride scotland Ive just got back into the scene again after being away from it for a few years. Ive got myself two lurchers and enjoy mooching around with them allthough I cant beleive how hard it is, my dogs at the moment are still young and Im hoping as they get older Ill get more results with them. Im looking forward to sharing my experiences with yous all. cheers tom
