I think it is a brilliant bit of kit, takes a bit of getting used too but easy to use and you get no interference Thats not to say i didnt like the mk 1 and if i hadnt needed more collars i would not have sold it and would probably still have mine. And touch wood i ve not had a problem with mine yet Nathan

Not too bad mate, been in bed sick for a couple of days so i have fell behind a bit but its getting there, the trouble with a double selvedge net is it takes twice as long because you have to make sure the strands are not twisted together at every knot. Have you started your 20/9 net yet? Regards Nathan
-
Ok the DOUBLE the weight if that keeps you happy, but still dont see the need to carry DOUBLE the weight for the same length of net especially as far as this thread is showing the negatives outweigh the positives and DOUBLE the weight is to me just another negative Nathan

Wells it seems you are doing a good job of that yourself just now, I personally have never used a trammel net, i ve never felt the need to either at night or day, its bad enough when you get a couple of twigs or bit of bramble in 1 net, let alone trying to get it out of 3 at the same time, weight would also be an issue for me as you would be lugging 3 times the weight for the same length of net and as i have a fair walk to most of the places i would not be too keen on that, and for me personally well if one or 2 get away because i cant get there quick enough they will be there for another

Im making a 50 yard double selvedge net just now, i just tie it in with a loop of twine every 50 rows so i can keep track of how many rows are in it and keep it neat and all together, and just keep going and going and going lol :thumbs-up: Nathan

Nice net mate, im about a 1/4 way through a 50 yard 20/9 double selvedge net. A few good tips from NETRIGGER has kept me on the right lines Nathan

Mk 3 for me, i had a mk 1, needed a couple of new collars and couldnt get one anywhere so i put the box and 2 collars on e bay last year and got a mk 3 far better than the mk 1 in my opinion, just takes a little bit of getting used too. Got to admit i was not over keen on the collars at first because none of the holes seemed in the right place so each ferret has got there own customised collar now with holes put in, in the right place for them Nathan

We used a couple of hobs last time and you re right that did get them moving but because of the ease of digging i was happy to take the 2 young jills, its all experience for them and i like to get them started using the longnets so they can come and go as they please without getting the collars snagged in purse nets, I guarantee if you give longnets a go you ll never look back, since i started using them in just looking for excuses not to use purse nets Stevie the hedgerows you can see in the second and third picture both in the field im in and the ones in the distance beyond the farm bu

With all the rain over the last week i wasnt sure id get out this weekend so hadnt really arranged anything, got up and cleaned the ferrets out and decided id go for a couple of hours so I rang the farmer and said id be round soon. I took 3 jills with me, one older one and 2 of this years young, wickdiweasel if you are reading this you might recognise them lol I arrived about 12 o clock and just took the longnets with me because i was on my own doing a warren out in the open field that me and a mate had done about 4 weeks ago and got 23 out of, I just wanted to run through it once more t
