    i've one that really is effected by nettles doesn't bother him when he's out but when he gets home ffs he's murder & one that don't like water,walks round puddles won't go more than toe deep in a stream no matter how hot but like most have said if she's behind summet nowt gets in the way

    See I wouldn't say that a real heavily collie blooded dog is necessarily easy to train. Some of them need far more patience, and a quieter, slower approach than some other breeds. Just going from what i've seen. Out of interest, where do you get the idea that everyone on here thinks that collie x's are some kind of magic wonder dog, and they are all the rage. There are far more bull x's and beady x's on here than there are collie blooded dogs. . . . . . and even more lurcher x lurchers.     Darcys just answered it better than i ever could. I think as i said on my second post its a quick fix,one that like the old collie comes and bites you on the ass when you least expect it. A nd a dog without pace to match is quarry is always going to struggle,couple that with brains? i don't get the quick fix what's it meant to be fixing,i don't think brains is a replacement for speed if they did they'd run collies (or bulls)& not lurchers. or is a collie x somehow slower than a bull x

    Seen most x's and lurcher x lurcher types do the same, with enough experience, or run too often when not fit true, not saying you got run it to standstill or when its not fit, but the collie x type will say when its had enough , bit more quicker than most other xs in the night, ive had few over the years and all have this mind-set attitude .Like said its what you doing with dog, if nice steady lamping +mooching+ferreting there hard to beat, but push them that bit harder ,and more so as they get older it will show more, they are a clever type dog they will do what they want not you.But

    well all collie x's arn't intelligent why do folk think if you cross a collie & a sighthound you will get the brains from the collie side everytime your just as likely to get the brains from the G/H side & that goes for everything else,feet, stamina,coat, agility & nose. so if you have had a collie x that wasn't all you hoped it would be,it could just be as simple as the collie not passing on the desired traits.not all matings mesh in the desired way,it would be easy & we would all have great dogs if they did
