Bloody iPhone 6 I'm amazed you understood that ! Because it's a chucking knife I reckon it need to be tough old wood , I think even this its blade heavy it's going to land handle first and take some punishment . It's a stick tang so needs to be bored out of that's possible to ?

Brilliant !! I need something turning (knife handle) in making my lad a throughout knife (it's massive) but need a simple hard handle for it !!

Around £25 for the sheath unless it's really complicated and needs more than one leather type . I could do some fixed blades if folks want them ? Small slender blades .. I have 3mm steel in stock and some 15n20 nickle steel (for Damascus) but it's thin for simple knives . After typing the incurs genet to try s pumped opinel I think il try one myself ha ha

Good thread gaffer , I've sold over 650 blanks (I bet it's more) in the last 4 years , loads to folks on here . There used to be loads of creative work in this section , I'd love to see it revived .. Iv got a gun to my head with Xmas killing trade for a few months for me , so apologise for not sharing more . New year and another new workshop for me (forge didn't work out) new logo and a totally new approach to business . There will be lots to share , new products , how the work is done , you name it . I make deciying stuff (pigeon ) all sorts of other inventions when I have time . I should

I don't know where to get one but I think there is loads of folding knife kits available . Folding knives are way out side my ability , there's loads of engineering in them . I wish I was able to make them .... I spent a small fortune last year cad designing a friction folder in 3D model format . I still can't make the bloody thing !! Some guys pimp the hell out of opinels, s,a,k, you name it . As always I would start with the most important part , the blade ! Nothing is more important than that I whole heartedly believe . Any knife with soft stainless or badly tempered carbon is just a no

Any Experience Of Baikal 410 Over And Under Shotgun
midnight replied to midnight's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Thanks for the response . I have a single 12g baikle that I don't use at all . I borrowed a stealth of a mate in .410 for a few months to . The under over is £74 more than a steath single select trigger , ejector it's not a lot of money at all for the spec . I don't find any real reduction in range , pattern is a little open at range but knock down crowd what ever at pretty good rangy shots . I like to shoot clays with .410 so an expensive spotter would be over kill but would keep the clay shooters quiet Maybe in the new year il get a chance to buy one and feed back how I get on . All th -

Diy Flapping Decoy Design
midnight replied to Fieldsports's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
There great !! I have recently bought hype flappers and although good there weak as puss and I could have made better !! Yours look superb and well made !! I may try making some .. I'm allways making weird decoy things , I made lifters last week , using an old beach caster rod some tatty full body decoys and 5mm rebar . They worked into I need to et them down , I realised iv made the perfect gadget to stab your eyes out if they fall when you lift them .. Mine need more thought !! Anyway if like to make some decoys like yours and have the on long arms on a right angle to the lofter to att -
Hi I'm a big fan of small bore shotguns , I don't currently have one and I'm missing it badly . Iv shot a lot of vermin and game with the little 410 so I'm more that aware of its limitations and ability. In a utopia I would get a £3k to £4k sporter from one of the giant companies , but it's not a utopia and I don't need that quality for the shooting I do . So for a few months Iv been looking on the Internet at the massive amount of options in the small bore o/u . Price for new is much the same , but there are a lot with out ejectors (I really don't want that ) and a lot with multi choke (d

Thanks wullz . Who knew they would be so popular ??? I have a Japanese style sword blade iv been working on (on and off) for 2 years . Anyway I just got an mot failure on my van and a bill of £500 to pay so I'm going to try to Finnish that and get it sold to help pay for it . It's hand forged from a incredibly old half round file (the biggest iv ever seen ) It still needs heat treating, finnish grinding and polishing , but any collectors out there , if it survives heat treating it's going to incredible !! -

After xmas maybe I will have worked out how to make them easier to reproduce . Laser cutting is the best option followed by proffesional heat treating . The thing that would cripple me would be the minimum order , I would probably have to get 50 of each cut and I worry they would be £45 each .... When I have the spare money to pay for the CAD design il get them quoted up . Personally I don't have use for a cleaver but I use a machete all the time so I gotta have one of those for myself . I really do want to push on with the axe design in the new year , I hope there will be a good market fo -

I think if I make any more I will use a thick spring steel , have them laser cut and proffesionally heat treated . Maybe slightly shorter and not so wide . That would be a really efficient way to get quality blanks and steel issues sorted . But surface grinding , edge grinding , and everything else are still complicated .. I need s new machete for when I go pigeon shooting , I think it should be one of my own this time ! -

lets go with a number system this time for easy identification . #100 machete/chopper, comes in at a whopping 50cm just under 20" long ...17cm or 6 3/4" handle . 33cm or 13" blade 7cm or 3" at its widest point. it has a differentlial temper to the steel which means its hardest on the cutting edge spring temper on all the non cutting parts , i did this so the blade would bend rather than snap if you or someone was abusing the hell out of it !(imagine a very sharp 13" piece of steel just flying through the air in a random direction) please rememner its a chopper not an axe if you buy it , a
