    At the moment as I'm just trying to raise money to pay for laser cut knife blanks and rebuild my business..... not expensive , I need around £180 to £175. If you think the abrasives alone cost me £25+ and the sheaths gotta be £50 worth ... I dunno if the photos/ write up show the amount of work involved ??

    boar knife not a true "how to" but just a little write up following the construction of a knife from a file to a "boar knife" i had a similar knife planned but after a pm from a hunting life member asking if i could make a large knife suitable for sticking boar , a small change here and there and the outcome was this bad boy. ok i started with a large double cut file from the forge , it was well past its working life, it had no cutting ability and had been chucked in a corner covered in oil rust etc. couple of quid changed hands and we had the biginings of a large knife . most of you kn

    Green wood , like oak . Great dark colours !! As kids we used to rub green cut sticks and bark Sap on our Openel Blades (before they snapped)

    #2 sold then ? thank you I have another axe I just started today . I little different this one im trying to take the risk of failour out of the construction !! Iv got two big carbon knives I'm also working on , one more suited to cleaver work I think . It's about 12mm thick steel ? and has Fire welded steel bolsters , it's a full beast !! And "different" boys toy type thing made from a massive industrial file , has a stylised Japanese blade but it will have a cross guard of ally, big old red stag handle and steel pummel for ballence ..     Thanks I love the axe to , it's only the second one Iv ever made . A few cocked up ones but that's my second finished axe ... It would be great if they share easier to make . I don't even own an axe ha ha .

    next some pattern welded steel for the little batch of utility knives . its made of 15n20 and o1 tool steel . and i went for 150 layers in total ..... now just have a think about it , each layer of the original billet is enough for one knife . so its waistfull thing to make , i could have made 25 knives for the 4 blades i got !!! madness really. in the middle is the original billet , ignore the big old knife and axe , the axe is scrap and the big knife is a work in progress so be patient:) the billet welded up and drawn out , this will be cut and stacked x3 that makes 75 lay

    i thought i better use this section as its intended and show some picks of things being made . very brief pics really but its hard to do it all solo with one hand (wait for it) ok i made 3 axe heads but 2 where scrap so ended up with one good one iv killed of the pics of the scrap so there might not be as much info in the pics but i will explain as i go .. materials for this small light bearded axe are mild steel for the socket and substraight and high carbon spring steel , the steel is reclaimed leaf spring from a mitsubishi L200 pick up . spring steel is nice because it more flexable a
