    Whats the most rabbits you've ever had in a nights longnetting, and what length net where you using. I got a 20 in 100yard quickset in 1 drop And 3 drops in one night give me a 1 in the first, 7 in the second and 8 in the third. I've seen some cracking fields for it just lately, wait for that moon to drop and i'll do all 4 in one night. First field i have seen upto 50 rabbits in and would need 200+yards of net, second field there was 20-30 and would need only 100 yards third field 50+, 200yards fourth 30-40, 200yards

    I set FIFTY snares on saturday morning, got them all out by about 10:00. I had 36 pegs out and 14 hoops, set at 6". This morning i checks them and have only two rabbits..... i had about 15 knocked wires so i will be snaring it again keeping my snares about half an inch higher.

    They neednt bloody other banning my methods!!! lol I do know their attention will turn to fishing, shooting or whatever, they will not stop at what they have 'achieved' Ferreting, Lamping(lurchers), Longnetting, Snaring, Trapping, are my fav. methods although not to good with the snares and traps, but im trying............. so they neednt bother trying to ban any of them!!!!!!!

    Can you set bodygripper in rabbit holes, like you can fenn's? or is it just set them in an artificial tunnel?

    try get a "coleman" 800,000cp lamp, they arent made no more so you'd be lucky to get one, but if you see one, buy one. I've been looking for years now, cant find one. Get a 12v, 16amp wetcell battery (motorcycle type). cost about £25 from a motorbike shop.

    I was driving to my local fieldsports/gun shop today and in front of me was a nissan micra, looked like a mid-aged fella. I then noticed the sticker in his rear window "i Back the Ban" i got so annoyed. These people get pleasure at the thought that us hunters are now restricted to what we do, not a fox hunter myself but i love a good hare course. B@stards (and i have his reg. no)

    20 rabbits, two men, 4 ferrets. no marking dog. Got a slow start with 6, then 14 off one hedgerow. next best was 18 on my own (see my previous post)

    okay mate, cheers. So do you tend to have to feed the dog a little less after she has been spayed? And how many hours per day are you dogs exercised? Im just trying to prove me dad wrong................

    im gonna have a look around there tonight with the lamp to see what rabbits are still about, i know theres still another good bag to come off, my dad wanted to go with me this morning but advised him that we should wait till next week, and the rabbits will move into the sets i ferreted yesterday. i have took 24 off that spot in two days, and theres probably another 24 to be had, just gotta hope they move in the sets together, find out tonight.

    It was some trek back to the van with all that, i had to take 2 boxes and bag of nets in one trip. longnet basket & traditional nets, pegs and spade in another. and 13 rabbits another (5 were already in the van). shoulders are feeling it this morning more so because i was at the gym thursday night, then lugging all that around yesterday morning.

    Well, i set 100 yards of longnet one side, and 75 yards the other side of a dyke. I entered 4 ferrets and let them roam about i got 5 on this set, i lost 3, 2 got around the 75yard net, and one, my polecat hob grabbed it at the hole and the rabbit took off, eventually he let go. I put the longnets around the opposite dyke, and put just three ferrets in, well i had my hands full, rabbits bolting everywhere. I got 9, but as i was ravelling the longnet in, there was one just curled up sitting nice in the net, so 10. I then walked over to another field, with only the purse nets, no longnet

    i dont tend to feed the rabbits the rabbits, unless the freezer is overloaded, then i just give them back legs and saddles. The rabbits are fed to the dog, along with some dry biscuit type food. or if i get 10+ rabbits, they get sold, at £1 each for clean rabbits. any lamped rabbits is dog food.

    i have a brown brindle dog, and when on the lamp, when they get so far away, you can hardly see them. so different colours i believe have different advantages & disadvantages

    Well, i was going to poach a bit this morning where i have had a 7 and 8 and a 9 off. But as i pulled to the layby i seen a jeep there and some lad walking down a field wilth ferrets and guns so i thought sod it. I went to another bit that i havent ferreted or even lamped before, i seen a few rabbits sitting out, as i got over the brow of the hill i seen 3 hop into a set that was esy to do (i was only on my own so any rough hedges was out the question) i netted up, about 12 holes. I entered 2 polcat jills either end, bolted a rabbit striaght off from a nice little bolt hole. I grabbed

    aye, its good to get the old lads out. An old fella aged about bought a ferret finder mk 2 about 5 months ago, i've just told him they aint the good ones. he was raging, as the oldies do.

    i heard that the windy nights are the best, but the rabbits seem to sit out more on a calm night than a windy night, thats why i havent netted as many lol. With only one bumped wire, i can only assume the rabbits werent out last night, maybe been spooked by something, i dont know. See if i get a result tommorow morning.

    well, brace yourself. Because you will be disgusted Not a single rabbit, i had one wire knocked, i lifted the hoop snares but left the rest, will be ferreting around that area tommorow. .......

    Well after watching woodgas dvd, i got in the mood to set some wires. I went to this field were i have longnetted a total of 28, and theres still plenty more, its right next to a sand quarry. All in all i got 8 fence wires, 5 hoop snares and 9 peg wires out. so total of 22. i shine the lamp in this field some nights and theres 40+ rabbits sitting so lets hope i get a good results. The runs were all well run down. After watching the dvd i learned a bit more about cutting the fences to improve the catch area with the snares, so i have done this. I got them out before 11 this mor

    i seen that picture wire , its usually about £1.50 for 3meters, and usually already spun into 3 or 6 strands. how much for a spool P&G?

    anyone know where to get a big spool of brass wire for making snares. Much like the one woodga uses on his dvd
