  2. they arent the pegs that Mr. Gun gave me. They are just a few old snares to get the lad going
  3. Just been looking at vans myself. I think im going with an R REG VW Transporter i seen. It has a full service history. The load space is boarded out on the side, and aluiminium chequer plate on the floor. easy to clean 3 seats in the front. Fast for a van Tidy inside & out Runs well & a nice driving position (high up - i now cant stand driving car's, with their low to the road position & shitty little mirror's) Theres only one catch. The speedo jumps about until you are at a steady speed. Sure i'll sort that out though oh, he wants £1750 for it, + my

  5. Is there much money in it? Sick of working for a living
  6. Anybody got any pictures or advice on setting the half barrel mole trap's?
  7. Some tips for ya Fishaben. My name is Rabbithunter, not rabbitcatcher Go on one of PegAndGuns courses Get Decent Snares, buy them from Woodga or PegAndGun, or make yourself Set your snares on dark windy nights 7.5" x 5.5" loop 5.5" is a good setting height in normal grass. Treat each run as a different set ie; just because the full field might be short grass, you might need to set some at 5.5" and some at 6.5", there could be reeds or whatever in the middle of a run. Make sure your snare is center of the beat & not too far outside the run Use "hoop sn
  8. Venison Curry..... Very Nice. I like rabbit casserole. I tried some "tandoori rabbit" the other day that my mate had cooked. Quite nice, but fecking hell was it STRONG.
  9. looks like some cracking runs to snare there Geordie
  10. I have had vans for 18months now and have only been pulled once - cutting a corner (late night, i could see no headlights - so nothing coming) As long as you have an excuse your alright. If you've been poaching, tell them you've been on permission. if you have had a good night on the hare's pick them up in the morning. Or if your making a long journey for a night on hare's, go in two vehicles. One with the dogs, one with the quarry. not that i advise any illegal activity
  11. The grammer is also a big give away to who's chav and who isn't Regards Rob spot on
  12. for £125 peg and gun will teach you well worth the money
  13. Just gotta give P&G a lot of credit here. he certainly knows what he's talking about, and without his expert tuition i would have never achieved this . or this this or these Top man, he'll be blushing now I also have to give Woodga a lot of credit, he put up with me for a lot of years bugging him about setting snares, telling me the same over & over again, he must have got quite mad at times :realmad: top men
  14. Mr. Gun, i set that snare approx 6 3/4" on the picture the stream looks narrower than what it is, its a good three foot. There is plenty more run's like that. So DEL, if your reading, get yourself down and i'll take you up there
  15. 306 estate arent too bad either. Goto an auction, glasgow, preston, or wherever. Get them cheap enough
  16. Ask woodga or P&G if they will sell you some. As for learning how to snare, you wont go far wrong if you go on a 2day snaring course with P&G. I went on it in april(? i think) . I have snared more rabbits in the past few months, than i have in the past 3years. See my last post "one happy bunny", the sets going over the beck, i would never have thought about snaring until I had went down to P&G's
  17. thats what i use. Red/pink bailing twine sticks out like a treat.
  18. LOL, im not that good i have circled the beat you can see it perfect on this one its the same run, but different morning's. Well chuffed with myself.
  19. oh yes its fun. you would have though pulling rabbit after rabbit from a snare would get boring, but its not cany you spot the beat on the very bottom picture?????
  20. Got a few this morning again. Lifted the snares up as im at work tommorow. I caught 9 in total, one was a young un' and when i got to the van i only had 7 so it's probably came off the legger at some point Here we go In a fence wire Peg wire Same rabbit, different angle another Another See how they try to hide Peg snared another Im just showing off now

  22. --> QUOTE(james b @ May 28 2006, 12:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WELL DONE THERE WILL BE FECK ALL LEFT FOR THE FERRETING AT THIS RATE That farm i was on has an estimated 150-200 rabbits on it at the moment, and more young uns to come. SO im gonna have to hammer it to keep the farmer happy
  23. This rabbit was caught, round its neck, but the top of the snare was in front of its lug's. This is the way that the warrener describes how he catches his rabbits in his "bullseye snares" which apparently breaks their necks. I'll assure you this rabbit did not have a broken neck (well it did, after i done it) it was well and truly alive I'd say so, mate
  24. PS; the rabbit snared over the beck, the snare was set between 6.5" -7"
  25. And a few unhappy bunnys I set snares saturday morning and i checked them this morning. I will be picking them up tommorow. May i add, all rabbits were perfectly neck snared. The total was 11, but i only have 9 as 1 rabbit was a wee un & one had gone to the foxes. Nice view of my land looks like rain - & it did!! the third snare i checked - looking good Can you see it? There it is Can you see it? There it is Well done Ryan ! Rabbit coming off a bank, set at 6" First one on a fence
