Think it might have been Molly who I first remember mentioning this stuff.
Antibiotic for eyes available over the counter (human use). But can be used on the dogs. Need to know the name.
Thanks all.
If you have a costume hire shop near you, hire a chicken costume, it MUST BE realistic as possible,. Get as far away from the dog pen as you can, or where you can chain them out securely (1 at a time is best). & approach the dog diagonally, never directly. When the dogs shows too much interest scold the dog. As long as the dog doenst see you getting in or out of the chicken costume then this is the best method. But the chicken costume must be realistic or you will look silly.
Let us know how you get on.
I wouldnt be too worried is I was you, the amount of folk that have had good service & goods of you speaks volumes. Plus the fact your evolving your gear. Along with a few others also helped a guy's family (who I had a lot of time for) who is no longer around. For me thats a big deal.
The other guy ive had stuff off and it stood the test of time too to be fair.
Im gonna not add any water till I turn the turner off this time. What is the red cell stuff?
The incubator is up and running with another 10. & I will let one go broody now aswell, which was always the plan, same hen last summer sat her own and hatched 6 out of 7 and put some other eggs under her later on and she hatched them out for me.
6 hatched, 4 were culls bent up feet 1 with bit of the stomach outside. 4 eggs unhatched with chicks full stage (or thereabouts) inside. So the power cut didnt have any significant effects!.
Talking to a mate today, and from what ive told him he reckons too much humidity. All cleaned out and sterilized, another 10 eggs ready to go in tonight, they will have zero water added & will only fill the one resevoir 2 days before hatch due. See where that gets me.
2 chicks under the lamp, seem happy enough.
