Cheers DUCKWING like you said just had a go now that i have a bit of an idea what to do i will have a go at another one with a proper blade .

Hi fletcher i hacksawed the plane blade in two then used a grinder to get the shape and edge then a oil stone to finish the edge off . I read somewhere to take your time with the grinder as getting too much heat in the blade is a bad thing

Well after being inspired by DUCKWINGS knifes i thought i would have a go not wanting to spend money on the right gear only to feck it up :11: i made do with what i had lying about used a old pitted and rusty plane blade and some bits of hard wood i already had some of the right glue so the only had to buy needle files and danish oil. Not having all the things to make one right i made do with what i had they have enough of a edge to gut rabbits and i won't be gutted if i lost one :11: .Having a go has at least gave me an idea of what to do i might even spend some money on a proper blade woo

He was ok Fieldmarshall till he clattered into a gate picking a rabbit up gave him a rub and a bit of a rest and he was ready to go again. Tuck was running the white rocket he said his right arm was 3 inches longer by the end of the night :11:

Had a look out with Maxhardcore and Tuck and his son last night it was blowing like a goodun at home before we set off and the moon was covered by cloud but when we got to the farm the wind was dropping off we set off to do the other side of the farm as me and Fieldmarshall had done the other bit last time out .There was only the odd rabbit in each field some of the fields were water logged don't know if that had put them off coming out we still got some runs for the dogs we should have had a slip on tucks lad as soon as the dogs caught a rabbit he was off like a shot running to get it off the

she ran alot better max she only missed a few she hunted up once after she missed one but after fieldmarshall told her off she didn't do it again i think after some more looks out she will be back on track max :thumbs-up:

Had a look out lamping with Fieldmarshall tonight there was a bit wind that got stronger as we walked round the farm and some cloud that covered the moon for most of the time we were out. We had some good runs although the rabbits were not out in any numbers walked about half the farm and called it a night with 14 rabbits

Had a day out with the kids and some of this years young ferrets first kick of the match tunny and tuck got a five foot dig through stone sand Rambo will know where as he had a bad dig in the same place i told tunny about his dig but we still ferreted it :whistle: while tunny and tuck were digging i did some 4 and 5 holers with the young ferrets one of them was doing ok and was bolting a few the other two were playing about a bit after the bad dig we moved to a warren where we seen at least 20 rabbits drop in when we were lamping think we only got 2 out when my young ferret came out after

It was a canny night Ian pleased you enjoyed it apart from getting a soaking don't know who is stiffer this morning me or the old dog .We found homes for the rabbits although one of the lads we drop a rabbit in for got a few more than he normally would left on his coal bunker :11:

Had a look out last night despite the moon being up we still got some runs Fieldmarshalls dog ran well he is good on the long slips .we seen a good few rabbits dropping in warrens that we hadn't noticed before so we will ferret them next time we are out :thumbs-up:

Hi Duckwing you don't need to have the leader clips on if you turn the pins the other way round you can put a broad nylon strap like you have on your carriers on them. I have made carriers like yours and they work well but even when you piss a rabbit and you think its all out when the rabbit cools off you can still get some leaking out both types do the job but after using Tomo's safty pin idea i prefer using them.

Out with Fieldmarshall and Tomo lamping weather was spot on dark and windy stopped of at one of our new farms for a quick look good few rabbits out got 4 and decided to go to the next farm on our way back to the farm Tomo pulled up and caught 2 with Tara lamping from the side of the road .Got to the next farm and split up we walked 7 fields and caught 16 and went back to the motor When Tomo came back he was loaded with rabbits Tara had caught 27 on her own and was still ready to go again she is one fit little bitch with loads of stamina. We had a look out last night there was no wind but it was plenty dark enough for the lamp don't know if it was the still night or the mixi taking hold but there was very few rabbits out fields that are normally lifting there was not a rabbit to be seen the rabbits we did get a run at were mostly long slips we caught 9 one with mixi the next good windy night we might get a better idea of what rabbits are left.

Out ferreting with max tunny& daughter and a work mate it was a dry day but there was a strong chewy wind we decided to have a go at the bank side where Tomo and Rambo had caught 70 odd a few weeks back not a good idea put all our purse nets down and 2. 25yd nets and only covered a small part of the bank we had 3 ferrets in but they got the run around only got 4 rabbits out and gave up and moved onto some smaller warrens we were getting 1 or 2 out but never hit any numbers but enjoyed the morning out was surprised we had no digs with it being windy the 16 rabbits we got were all clean no

Had a look out with the ferrets on sat on a new farm we have not been on yet the farmer told us where he wanted us to do today .As it is with a new spot you have to find where the warrens are so a bit of walking about till we started to find the rabbits we did some open field 3 and 4 holers and were getting 1 or 2 out we then bolted some young rabbits out of one warren so we pick the ferrets up and moved on got a few more out of small warrens then bolted more youngens .
