Hello all, Just after a bit of advice about a rescued dobermann bitch which my parents got 5 weeks ago or there abouts. Shes about 2 years old and from a dogs home where she was fed on any dry or tinned food they could get there hands on which was mixed up. She was fairly under-weight. We started feeding here what my last dog (EBT with skin complaints) was fed on, its a working dog food from a local farm type shop, its also wheat/gluten free, the EBT always did well on it so decided to carry on with it. However, last week she has started getting really dry and flaky skin (like dan
  3. Hello all, not posted on here for a while again. I keep popping on reading posts now and then though. Anyway, a few weeks ago my folks got a rescue dobermann who is a bit aggressive out in the street, pulls till it feels like the collar is snapping and loves bucking and twisting out of her collar! So i came on here, put in a search for collars and harnesses and found some crackin thigns being said about strong stuff... So i dropped him an e-mail asking about harnesses, and instead of him just saying 'yeh i make them, send us 50 quid' like you normally get these days, i got some pr
  4. Ha Ha Ha, thanks for that, lol. I cant help my boyish good looks can I now! LMAO. Just to make the point though I AM NOT GAY! Lol. Gaz
  5. I know this is going to start a massive debate here, but im wondering who everyone thinks we as hunters should be voting for this year? Im assuming we all want to get rid of the labour party? Just wondering who is likely to be on our side and get the hunting ban over turned? Thanks Gaz
  6. Thanks alot to those who have given constructive advice or critisism and posted there pics. Karlsberg - Why am i so dreamy mate? Cheers Gaz
  7. Well i weighed up all the pros and cons and have spent about 18 months lookin at different lurcher breeds. I have always been reccomended the beedy/whip for a mooching dog and rabbit dog. I also prefer the looks of the bed/whip over collie/whips and whip/greys. Its just preference mate. Gaz

  10. Hello, im after a few pics of different 3/4 whippet 1/4 bedlingtons to see what dogs of this breeding look like and how they vary. Ive searched google and some of them look like pure whippets and some look like half crosses or even more beddy than that. Thanks Gaz
  11. I think that if take long-slip's advice then you cant go far wrong. I think that if after a miss you turn the lamp off and whistle her back and put her back on the slip then it wont be long before she gets the idea that she has to come back to wether she has caught or not. Good luck mate, Gaz
  12. Very good, lol. Ive got these...

    Guard Dog

A few people always point out that a thief will not be stopped by a guard dog because they could 'just shoot it'. Ive heard this said a few times on forums in the past. And it is true to a point a suppose but like sky-cat said its not very heard of and also even if the burglar/attacker/thief was armed then he would have to be bloody quick at gettin hid gun out, aiming and firing before a good guard dog was ragging him like a little bunny :-) Im a fan of the cane corso and presa canario breeds but i also like alot of the crosses that are about, like the presa/cane corso, and that mastiff/ro

    Guard Dog

My auntie has got a GSD x Rotty, hes great with people, a great guard and also a big bugger! Would make a good guard dog. Other than that any big mean looking guarding breed would do you really. A kennels called 'Greys Holt' breed Alaunts for guarding and family guardians etc. Ive heard theyre very good and they look ferocious! Gaz.
  16. I thought about making one yeh, but i guessed that i could possibly buy one for less and also save me alot of time. That first link is just like what i was after, only £15 for the large so might give one of those a go. Cheers mate. Gaz
  17. Hello all, im after some advice on locating a display case for small lock knives or similar. I have got quite a few nice looking knives and its a shame them being hidden in drawers or in my fishing/hunting bag so i want a frame to put them in. Anyone no anyone/anything that might be of use? There are a couple on e-bay but they look a bit tatty and have already got cut-outs for knives which wont be the same as mine obviously. Basically what im after is a 3 or 4 inch deep photo frame with a thick foam insert so i can cut the knife shape into the foam and just slot it in. Any idea
  18. Id reccomend giving them a call first, ive always found them great to deal with and are very heplfull. Just dont give any personal details at first (due to you having an illegal rifle) in case they are obliged to inform the law etc. The worst they can do is say no. Gaz
  19. Just had to show them my old man... Best action shots ive ever seen i think mate! They are really good photos! Thanks very much for sharing those mate Gaz
  20. Interesting Topic and some good replies, especially J.G. It does make you think alot more about what your writing i guess, it is easy to forget that the whole world can see these posts. I bet someone will accuse me of being an anti tomorrow! haha. Gaz
  21. Do you mean the breed? "Thats the sort would suit me, pure early speed!!" They are racing greyhounds mate. Gaz
  22. Wow that dog is amazing! Never seen anything like that. Did he do that in all of his races??? What do you think made him do that? Is it intellegence? Reserving energy because he new where the final straight was? Im watching them again, lol. Gaz
  23. Well thoughts are with you mate. I know its a long shot but im checking everywhere i can think on the internet for staffys found or for sale in the leeds area matching your dogs description. Ive been told in the past that pages like this are where alot of 'found' dogs get advertised for sale. http://www.local.thesun.co.uk/sale/pet/-/p...e_bull_terrier/ So keep looking people.
  24. Dont give up fella. Have you done what someone suggested above? Drove to where you work her or a place she likes to go for a run etc? Keep your chin up and keep spreading the word mate. Gaz
  25. Yeh that was a smashin right up DS. Nice one fella.
