  1. Hi Folks, after 20 odd years of shooting I thought I'd try my hand at ferreting. Got 2 jills from JuliaTaylor & a hob from a donnie. First 2 sets of holes I tried this morning - nothing, only thing I did notice was badger & fox carp Tried another field corner, too difficult to get into net so I thought I'd net the easy ones & get ready with the shotgun. Initially thought it was a bit ambitious, from corner to either side was about 30ft each side. Tried the hob, walked round & round, thought I'd lost him then a rabbit started squealing, ran round, had to stick my

    PEOPLE WITH GUNS

To add more to this- I've been shooting various weapons from .177 up .50 for the past 20 years. Definate kills at 800+ I've only just started ferreting Usual story, SWMBO argued that I could have some ferrets if I was here to look after them, now I am I can. As for the dogs, personally & please bear in mind that this is only MY opinion - I believe that in your lifetime you only ever truly gel with one dog & you can be truly lucky if that happens. There maybe others that come close but never one that can second guess your every move. I take my hat off to the dog lads
  6. The handles will screw into any of the lightforce lamps. As for the "extra" waterproofing, it equals to 1 o-ring. Certainly not worth the price difference they charge for them.
  7. I've read it twice, are you selling the handle or the switches? Did you try Deben? Only£6 with next day delivery
  8. 1 of mines got it - KC, :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: F45^%*ng barsteward thing Other ones fine & they live together??
  9. Not a bad sized show for it's 1st time their. Mind you, don't just go to the show, walk up to the castle & have a look at the bison - yes, BISON & the red deer they have there. Lovely place.
  10. More items added, plus soon to be adding a Paypal checkout to make life easier for everyone. Happy hunting Folks. Dave
  11. Anyone going to this? It's on this weekend. Fingers crossed I'll get a locator there
  12. Yep, that'll be the one. A pair of moon walking ferrets
  13. Hi Folks, I have just recently got some ferrets from JuliaTaylor (Topgirl ), they are about 4 months old, I have them in a hutch at the moment & just getting them used to wearing collars for when they can start ferreting. Tonight when I put the collars on them they went nuts jumping up like on springs and then burrowing under their bedding & sawdust. The question is - why? Is it an internal reaction & they think they're off to do some work?? All the best Dave
  14. Hi Folks, along with a new revamped site, I'm now adding a new item; A5 book / diary cover, geometric/celtic knot front & back. Name / title carving extra. Price without name / title - £25. Whipped edges with leather thong & leather inner also. Thanks for looking. Happy hunting.
  15. Went down to a game dealer up my way & they offered 50p a rabbit skin on gut out. Hare prices are just as bad - £2.50 for a large one. A lot of effort for 50p
  16. Doesn't the Deerhunter stuff come with the rubber membrane? Not being picky or owt like that but the Deerhunter Ram jacket I've got came with the three layers - outer, rain membrane, fleece. I even use the rain membrane under my non cammo stuff for shoot days. It's spot on. There's a place in Barnard Castle that normally has some good prices, damned if I can remember the name of it though.
  17. What we need to do is find an individual who has the time to do this; Decide that he/she is going to start the "Common sense party", then go to his neighbour & tell him/her exactly what he/she stands for; Common sense (things we all want) no cushy prisons stiffer sentences for minor offences a health service that gives you treatment based on what you have put in a more realistic immigration policy (if one at all) performance related pay for all the footballers [*}and so on Explain that they want absolutely no money for doing this & also explain that you (the neigh

  19. We had 1 dog who used to do it. Go to your local health shop & get some papaya tablets, put it in their dinner, then the first couple of time they go back to the old habits they end up being sick, natures way of saying that they shouldn't eat their own carp!!

    barbour waxy

Got a Barbour Beaufort, had it for years. Covered in oil from when working on cars/tractors etc, also a deep soaking of rabbit blood, not to mention occasionally being used as a dog bed, also used for fox shooting AND, even with the patched up rips & tears, it is still going strong. Never sent it back to Barbour as I have no idea for the price of a refurb. Plus it's lived in. Have said it before - numbers of realtree wearers at gamefairs MUST be a good indication of the hunting there
