Cheers all, I know the topic title states cages but i have been off with a glass back and upon the return to the job, i had to make an impact on the population quickly to account for my absence. I havent done as much as i would have liked with the cages. Needless to say i have still caged a good half dozen. Yes the traps are new, its a perfect and secure enviroment to age them a little, once the shine has lessened then they will join the rest ready for the next job. The tally so far is about 50, 2 dozen shot and the traps and cages accounting for the rest. Should hopefully be somewhere

Picture the scene, Rural cottages set in the yorkshire countryside, 2 acre of manicured flowerbeds and lawned areas, koi pond with winding streams and waterfalls, lawned tennis courts and woodland to the rear. Idylic. The thing is this place is called rose cottage, but theres not a rose in sight!!..........or any form of bedding plants! The rabbits have eaten the lot. Im with scuba on this one woodchip!! So what your saying is you have accurately shot quarry and killed near on 100metres Thats 109 yds. Are you sure your not getting confused with feet 100 ft would be 30 m (32yds) You need to re-do your sums or your gun chronod me thinks Not saying it isnt possible, just a little hard to belive

Sounds to me like he is pulling your trolleys down and giving you a good spanking. Demand a retest and make sure the printed record is accurate, or better still YOU speak to the FAO Something doesent sound as it should

Although you would presume an eye shot is a certainty, sometimes it isnt. If you are at the wrong angle it will not enter the brain cavity and pass out on an angle to the nose. This will kill the rabbit but not outright, hence the running off. I would say its a 50/50 shot. If on a downward angle to the nose. The other thing is your shot error or movement whilst taking your shot, A slight movement either way and you could be getting it right in the nose, ear or in the cheek/jaw, with the other 25% of the time resulting in a kill. Your target zone should be between the eye and the ear,

What do you class as a nice headshot? Exactly where are you getting them? Sounds like your just missing the target a little, although you are getting them in the head.
