  2. Its not the law side of it that winds me up, good luck to you if you do it and get away with it. Its the idiots that drive about on by roads (main roads) throwing there birds out of the windows were everyone can see them its not sporting and I dont think it gives falconers very good names by someone showing off there bird by the side of the road on a kill, there are falconers that walk miles for a flight. Im done moan over

  11. Why a mature male HH and why a spar ? What experience have you really had lets start fresh because this really sounds like a wind up no offence.
  12. 2 chickens,16 budgie, 1 african gray, 2 HHs, 1 gyr/saker, 1 redtail and a sparrowhawk and waiting for a Finnish Gos to pop up.

  16. Im not even going to go there mate. 1st year HH falconer know it all I am not qualified to give legal advice, but I suggest those interested refer to, and read fully, the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. {Section 5. 1 9e)} I suggest it comes down to the words " subject to the provisions", and "authorised person". If hawking from a mechanicaly propelled vehicle, by an authorised person in immediate pursuit of legal quarry is illegal, then so is shooting lamped rabbits/foxes with or without a vehicle, snares, and netting rabbits, as those same words prefix the relevent section in th
  17. Car hawking illegal no matter what mate
  18. I solder them at the moment will try brazing them when I get the chance. The only problem I have come across so far is not to heat them up to much as they start to weaken where you solder.
  19. Section 5 (1)(e) of the W&CA 1981 states ........... If any person uses a mechanically propelled vehicle in pursuit of a wild bird for the purpose of killing or taking that bird, they shall be guilty of an offence. Please note the act does not say on a public road, in a field or on a country track, it applies to anywhere within the UK.
  20. What I would do personally is bow him down 24/7 fly him 7 days a week then see what next year brings for free-lofting. I have free-lofted year old birds before but prefer to bow them for the first year. This is just my option so dont bite my head off
  21. Piece of p***, you supply the .22 brass empty cases I'll make you some I'm not paying £10.99 each for them when I can make them for tup pence.
  22. I was thinking the same
  23. Its up to the individual, its one way to get a late bird entered with easy slips but then again its no different than shooting quarry. I think the only problem you have flying that time of year is the feathers will be in blood so any damage to the feathers may cause a problem if they get snapped or broken.
  24. You dont need anything to purchased a Harris. The only paperwork you need is an A10 but that is only for birds that are a schedule 4 bird which are Golden Eagle, Merlin, Gyr Falcon, Peregrine Falcon, Barbary Falcon, Hobby, Goshawk and hybrids of these species.
