What I did is when the bird is on a kill like a rabbit hold the back legs cover it with your glove or gamebag throw a chick just out of reach from the bird so it has to leave the kill for the chick they may put up a bit of a struggle to start with but the bird will soon give up and leave the kill

Cheers Jasper do you know what the other females are flying at ? I holding her between 7.9 - 8.1oz and she's like a rocket at that weight bit slow at 8.4oz though.

Done abit of hedge row bashing today as there wasn't no maggies or jackdaws about. Blackbird vs Spar which one do you think won It was a great flight which really got her working

will give it a go thanks. do you think the bird gets the full amount if it breaks in to the chick and pops it everywhere, am i fussing to much?? just that it is a nasty wing infection and i want to no im doing the right thing to get it cleared up asap and stop it getting worse. I take it you dont de-yoke your chicks ? If so then what I would do is de-yoke the first chick you are going to give the bird just squeeze the chicks chest so that the egg yoke pops out of the chicks backside.
