    As terrier men go Pabs you must have seen just about every dog in the country go at some time or another .Fair play to you ,how's the reporting job going .

    The best time to get a terrier amidst the rodents is summer,winter is when a terrier should get a little more serious.If i was Rebecca id get myself around the many pig and poultry farms that abound in Lancashire and sort out some permission.Ass and talking out of spring to mind .Ratting is hard for a beginner at best of times but the summer is harder .Rats arnt concentrated anywhere ,at least not on farms I've found and the foliage makes a hunt even harder .If its a Plummer pup the op is after then let's start with a few rats and work up shall we rather than bigger stuff for which is it not

    It beggers belief that dogs are hurt on the breakthrough ,never seen it happen in any shape or form . it takes a few seconds to hear what's occurring and where when your about to go through .Totally beyond my comprehension .

    Neil ,can you explain the importance of a finding bar .Never owned one ,never will but I know lads who won't leave home without one.

    If your gullible enough to buy two staffs from abroad then you will get talked into anything .A quad is a must as is top of the range clothing .

    I agree to keep right side of law .We are not ashamed of our work and I would like to be able to challenge anyone who turned up at my door knowing everything is in order . I'm sure there is a list somewhere of vets that will dock ,the paperwork is downloaded off the web .

    Strangest place we ever came across one was in a set of Cambridge rollers on a farm .I thought the dog was ratting but a look revealed charlie wrapped around the metal inside .Anybody knowing what they look like inside will understand how hard it must have been to get in there .It eventually bolted and made good its escape much to terriers disgust .Found them up trees ,in piles of broken slabs ,in a lumber yard ,in cable troughs in a derelict building ,basically anywhere out the wind will do .Mate of mine once ran one into the shell of old cortina half buried and they had to take the back seat

    To add to this and something I'd forgot until recently ,the bitch will bleed sporadically after whelping which to some may appear concerning but is the bodies natural cleansing . It may appear as drops or in urine and should not smell .This usually stops by 4 weeks or soon after .

    Without sounding conceted and probably due to my location ,what recession .From what I've seen ,some were talked into a dip in spending but there has never been what I'd call a recession tbh .Only speak from personal experience mind and no reflection on anyone else .

    This particular buck has lead me a dance for the past 3 seasons and his demise was no less dramatical than his escapes in previous years .He frequented a group of fields that lead up to a flat field bordering forestry .I only have the shooting on a couple of fields here that belong to a farm in the valley further down .I first saw him whilst fox shooting after the silage cuts but left him for the rut and ever since he's been elusive ,only ever showing in very bad light .With the rut on I decided to sit up and call after stalking the main farm seeing only does .Sat against a telegraph pole in t

    The confidence of youth mate .He even managed to get down on bipod as Buck was coming in as he was a bit wobbly on sticks .He s pretty good at reading the deer as taught by an old pro ,myself lol.

    . This lad came in a beaut from about 300yds .We had stalked into a doe hoping there was a buck with her but no suiter so had a call with her still in front of us .Saw the buck come down over a bank in the distance and run to a gap in the far hedge .When he came through he behaved like a lot do and acted as if he couldn't care less but made his way slowly to the peeps .At about 90 yds I upped the calling bringing him to a stopped ,a foot shuffle saw him almost broadside and my son shot him neatly in the chest with the exit just through the liver .First buck for us for a long time .

    That's for a vet to answer and prescribe in the first place .99% of dog lads don't have a clue what or why they are administering drugs .Seems to be a culture of `i can get it so best use it`.
