stork your first sentence is some statement, creatures fur or feather that live in citys are used to getting food from in and around man made objects, there fore become less fearfull of taking food from such places, there rural cousins are ALOT more trap shy as they dont live around human inhabitted areas as much.., yes they probably raid more nests cetainly aint easier to get into a trap.. Well i know what your saying i live in a village loads of maggys i used to worn on an estate (shooting) i had no end there i brought the trap home it took 4 days befour one went in it might be the

the country side ones are eaiser to trap as they are use to eggs and nestr get some hay layer the bottom with it so you cant see the wire bottom pad it down in the middle then put 3 eggs in the nest or put a dead bunny gutted so they can see the flesh nest always works for me

looks very good first things first did you have a fake nest built in on off the trap doors eith a few eggs in secondly was it some where they could sit and look at it ie under a tree perch i used to crack 2 eggs on top of the trap so they could feed of it and get use to it then usally the next morning eggs on top gone and maggy in the trap

It s something partridge / pheasant do in the wild i think it moves so it interest them i have picked up a lot of phessys that have died eatinh a toad/frog i dont know why but partridge go mad for any thing that is in there spase that is edable so i should think they would or it just felt like it and it was differant so he had a try at gobbling it up?

Im as near as makes no differanse an hour away but your more than welcome to come down for the day lunch provided as long as you can get to me my own means of transport ive got ferrets nets lurchers and a hawk to see work to.
