  4. the dogs only 7 month old mate it will all start falling into place soon my last dog was a collie cross and he didnt even want know till he was 12 month old it was like a light switch being turned on and all he wanted to do was hunt saying that i didnt do alot with him early on because i didnt want to bring him on to soon and burn him out no good trying force the issue in my eyes let the dog mature on its own terms the only other thing i do reguler is if my dogs are getting some hammer ill leave them off for a week that firesthem up aswell. anyway all the best with it mate hope the dog comes

  8. can i just say its not the size of a carp that matters id rather catch 10 doubles than 1 20 lb fish because you cant choose which fish picks up your bait but to catch these decent fish you have to be consistant which is why id take 10 over 1 bigger fish allday everyday. anyway hers a few more decent fish ive had over the years.
  9. thanks mate ill try that where do i buy it?
  10. first time ive been in ages last year was a bad year really for numbers but this year they are back with a passion were backout sunday with a few extra hands and terriers im sure we will have loads more off looks like fb is going be a good month for ratting especially now my lurchers laid up.
  11. i had this brute in france a few years back. 48 lb im back out in april looking for a that magical 50 or 60.
  12. you and me both mate its a mess though but aslong as its kept clean im hoping it will heel ok.
  13. ive just noticed my lurcher as ripped a 3 inch hole on his inside leg it looks like a barb wire tear thing is for the size of the cut you would expect him to be holding that leg up or show some discomfort because its a mess but nothing no blood no limp not even a wimper when i cleaned it up and checked it over! poor boy sufferd in silence hes probably glad another inch to the right and it would have been good bye to his manhood. looks like a lenghty lay off till its [bANNED TEXT].

  15. my dog simba hes a good all round dog hes more into stuff that bites back these days but he ran rabbits lastnight on the lamp and had 2 out of 4 slips should have been 3 but my shite lamp let me and him down.
  16. i was going start a new thread regards light force lamps but ill jump on this one instead basically they are shite i have the blitz and the next one down i think its the light force strikeror something like any way firstly i changed all the connectors to plas plug ones which eradicated that problem then the flex cable keeps snaping for no reason so ive now replaced that for some heavy duty flex but im not happy about it as i payed decent coin for these lamps and they have let me down 3 or 4 times which is frustrating when your walking the fields. hope the copies are better made than the real
  17. thanks for the support guys to be fair everyone as been superb in helping me deal with my brother passing away the dog is bred out of my old beddlington greyhound bitch to my brothers old collie cross dog it wasnt a planned breeding to be fair but im glad they did as hes a cracking dog i actually owned him for around 10 mnths whilst my bro sorted his kennels out and when it come to it i didnt want give him away but a promise is a promise by time marsh had him he was marking rabbit warrens and catching regular and by time he was 2 1/2 he was taking verything that he put up marsh used to have a
  18. whilst out lamping the other night my mate mentioned hunting life and asked if i still post e,t,c well to be honest ive been so wrapped up in one thing or another i havnt been on for ages infact the last post was telling everyone about my dog that had cancer and it was looking like he may have to be put to sleep well he did and ive lost my good pal now and miss him more than i thought i would it put me of to be fair and i started to concentrate on my fishing catching a few nice carp from a few new waters up until the autumn this year when my brother died around 8 weeks ago well he was my best
  19. thanks for the replies the lump is between his right leg and his penis its a fair old thing i was thinking an hernia or maybe a trapped testicle thats swollen up he dosnt seem to be in to much pain with it but i hate the thought of him been in pain as you see i am fond of this dog he has come along way and im proud to own him ill be gutted if he never works again but i will gladly sacrifise working him as long as hes ok ill just keep my fingers crossed and keep you posted on his progress!
  20. well i dont really know where start but my dog jesper is having a rough time latley hes a cracking dog loves his work but of late hes pulled up with muscle injury hes ripped 2 nails off his front paw and now ive found a really nasty lump round his nether regions the size of an orange! i cant belive the luck this dog has because he loves to be out thier doing what a working dog does but im not willing risk further injury so he only gets road work and light walks at that! this winter he was looking really good the muscle problems seemed something of the past and he was starting catch well on t
  21. yeh along them lines the thing is he cant see what hes doing wrong hes chasing whatever you slip him on then when he comes back he gets a slap he dosnt know he supposed to come straight back now if it was my dog he wouldnt run again as he sulks but if its an head strong cross he wont bat an eye lid if you smack it kick it or anything else head strong dogs need lots more training to get [bANNED TEXT] so id tend to back off the lamping till you get this retrieve problem sorted first then ease him into lamping dont be to hasty it took my mates dog 6 months catch he was 16 months he caught a rabb
  22. hi sonny hitting the dog is never going be the way forward infact youll be lucky get the dog back at all my mate had a dog that worked up on the lamp he started by taking it out in the day and keeping it on a leash letting it off every now and then and rewarding the dog when he came back the penny droped after a couple of sessions it sounds like your dog just needs a little work but if you hit it evertime it runs it wont be long before it gives up running full stop patiance is the key with this mate dont worry if it fucks up the odd night its a learning curve for you both! enjoy it and goodluc
