  1. Say again, they said if you can't get a hard on you will have a heart attack within 8 years? Lol
  2. From what I've just read, some studies have shown increased calcification with statin used but again, calcification is less dangerous than soft plaque which is unstable, unpredictable and prone to rupturing and causing a blockage.
  3. That's why it is important lads to stave off metabolic syndrome, prevention is always better than the cure. This is also where medicine and doctoring is going wrong, more effort should be put in to health care in healthy people, not after it's too late and you have starting suffering from one of the deadly horsemen, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc.
  4. You can take equivalents now mate.
  5. Artery calcification isn't necessarily a bad thing though as calcification means that it has become stable. The dangers are when plaques are soft and unstable.
  6. As I said fella, TRT is known to increase risk of heart disease. You should have got all your baseline blood work done before entertaining TRT. It increases cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. If you were high risk before and never knew that could have been the tipping point. You are in the best hands now lad, a stent or two and you'll be brand new.
  7. Statins lower your cholesterol mate, feck knows what's gone wrong with you? Maybe because you have a condition?
  8. I've got a chest like Arnie pal, it isn't easy.
  9. No idea, don't get me wrong I have many good foods but I can eat shit with the best of them on occasions.
  10. My triglycerides have improved as well as my ratio, so happy with that. And I'm not particularly eating well and not really exercising barring working and walking the dog.
  11. My total cholesterol has gone up from 5 to 5.4 but my HDL (good cholesterol) has gone up, my triglycerides have also lowered quite a bit, they're 0.76mmol/L.
  12. No mate, there's different types of cholesterol, you definitely don't want high LDL cholesterol.
  13. You can have a full blood count at the docs. Just checking now, my total cholesterol is 5.4 which is slightly elevated but my triglycerides are good. My cholesterol/HDL ratio is 3.9 which is good but near the borderline.
  14. Before any fad diet I'd recommend everyone getting a full blood count, for all you know your cholesterol might be through the roof, same with glucose levels, etc, check to see if you have metabolic syndrome. Be wise before you start eating tonnes of saturated fats, that way you can monitor things and adjust before you increase your risk of problems.
  15. Heartbreaking mate, it was that Alice's funeral the other day, it was on the news and had to switch over, couldn't watch it.
  16. Best bet is to spunk it all up the wall before you start pissing your pants.
  17. I'm talking about protein goals not overall calories. As I said, it's advised to have about 0.8-1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight.
  18. They're good for you mate, bang em in, give it a bit of texture. Lol
  19. I'm funny with chicken unless it's freshly cooked. I hate taking all foods in tupperware, smells like sweaty arsehole.
  20. It's easy if you have a nice big steak and a protein shake, not so easy eating copious of amounts of chicken in tupperware at work. Lol
  21. I prefer tasty food mate and don't fancy salmonella. Lol
  22. Probably yes mate, but if you are weight training they advice 0.8-1 gram per lb of bodyweight. I haven't been to the gym in a couple of months, gonna start back on Monday. I've been all over the shop with my shifts of late, lots of nights, no good.
  23. Still haven't booked anything or decided. I'm off work after Saturday night for nearly a fortnight, it will be Cleggy at this rate.
  24. Having plenty of protein is good for you regardless pal, he's not going to be banging on pounds of muscle at his age lol. It's a ball ache trying to get the protein in with meats, fish & eggs. Protein shakes taste delicious and are super convenient. I make shakes with porridge oats, protein powder, peanut butter, chia seeds, frozen fruit & milk, can't beat em.
