  3. hiya digger, your ferts are spot on,my two are,nt as dark, just love dark ferts, pity your so far away, would of had a kit or two of you if you had of bred them, well will have to keep looking, going out in the yard to play with my two now, little buggers, wish they would stop still long enough to get a couple of decent pics, cheers, ian my two
  4. go for the cz 452,cant go wrong with them mate,i got two,an older brno 22e and a newer,452 style, class toys, imho, and acurate as any out there thats the older one above, newer cz style below take your pick, and both run well on win subs,so cost next to nothing to run,ok,ian
  5. cant go wrong with a cz 452,bolt action, sweet as a nut, deadly quiet, acurate as any gun on the market, mine has acounted for hundreds of hoppies, no probs what so ever, and will take any ammo, but seems to like win subs,so costs next to nothing to run,and a good choice of barrel lengths to suit, mine is the style version with 16" barrel, you can allso get the heavier varmint barrel, cant go wrong either way, mine has the sac mod, good as anything fir me,oki doki, ian i allso have an older brno mod 22e,still as good as my newer one,and still takes plenty of bunnies,no probs, ,this is the older vers
  6. drop me a pm bud and i will give you an adress or e mail of a lad on here does some good gear, let me know where you are at ok,ian,or look for john hubbery,on here in the ferret section ok
  7. we have been taking cam out for the last couple of months,no charge for diesel, feeding him every weekend, taking him onto prime land, lads that have been doing the ferts for 30 years, trying to teach him,all free of charge, its nice to know we are no longer required, after all the effort my mates have put into it for, him, well some one else can pick him up run him around, feed him,and good luck at trying to teach him,ian
  8. yep my two in season and the lads i go out with are mating theirs at the mo,so seems pretty wide spread, doesnt feel like global warming up on the fells to me,and the bunnies are breeding, got young in em now,ian
  9. no probs strong stuff, like you say any hole(without chocolate on)is a result in the dark, cheers, ian
  10. just rec my two yesterday, spot on,apart from the small loop being as big as the big one,you must have bloody big fingers strong stuff :11: ,catch you later bud,ian
  11. come on folks must be some due in the next month or so,north east is a big place,co durham as well etc etc etc,ian
  12. very nice pic,indeed

  13. wel done ll,thats what its all about,a day out with family or mates, dont need big bags all the time, its company and having a good day,a couple of bunnies, and above all a good time out, away from all the hassle and drudgery, glad you all had a good day, atb, ian
  14. yep john hubery,s the man, useing the yellow at the mo,cracking stuff, pity your so far away,he has loads of gear down at his shop, for the ferreting, will be down on sat morn to stock up,now i know what ime doing,(cue one dodgy net),the yellow is well bright when you lay the net out, especially in the snow, should be spot on when we get back on the heather, and fells again, oki doki
  15. hiya bud,get a bottle of ferretone,or similar, put some in a bottle cap,let him at it,take of the glove, pick him up when he s having it,and hold the cap for him to get at,try a bit on the back of your hand as you first go in to pick him up,just let him get to know your smell, and you,and he will calm down, sounds like some one been rough with him,he seems frightened of hands,so has to learn otherwise, just be patient and gentle with him,he will come on fine, unless of course you just happen to taste like prime free range rabbit, oki doki, ian
  16. go for it bud,i just started, made one up to now,and it worked, caught the first rabbit in it on sunday, but watch your hands, they will get sore, bloody sore after a 100 or more nets, but it is satisfying to catch in your own nets, watch the vids if you can, better if someone shows you,its that easy its hard,if you no what i mean, oki doki, ian
  17. hiya shep, its my first season with the ferts, got two of this years gills, and both were totally hyper when i started,my original one would go for anything near the hole and i had a right job getting her out, thats where the ferretone comes in handy, she does still panic a bit if caught in the net,and try,s to bite, but thats just a natural reaction, once i have hold of her she settles no probs, and she is now coming out without too much bother, now, her sister was my mates,a long time ferreter, and he gave up on her, when you could get her out the hole she would jump all over the place, try and nip, hyper
  18. spot on fellavery helpfull, apreciated the info big style, cheers

  19. hiya adzi, try her on some fresh rabbit liver, and spend a bit of time with her,let her run the yard, and have a bit of play with you,my two go mad for it,jumping around all over, soon as i walk into the yard, but they are young and daft as brushes, you could try some dried fert food, most wil eat that, and stick a fresh rabbit head in,they like that aswell,be down your way today, going to johns, the net fella at chilton, but she will be lonely if she has been in with other ferts, oki doki, ian
  20. hiya bud, seems a bit pricey for a fert, most genuine ferreters give them away to people they know, unless they breed them for money, but most go for about a tenner, going by what ive read on here, get mine for free, but i know a few long time old school ferreters, who been doing it 20 odd years, and do it for the sport and enjoyment, not profit, and only breed to keep their lines going, allready got my order in for 2 of this years kits, the 2 i have now are from a different line, but are shaping up ok,but still young and playfull, well thats my take on things,ok,ian
  21. hiya,i have two of the new mk3m collars,a lot smaller than the mk3 original, fit my 2 young gills no problem, not a lot bigger than the mk1 collars, and up to now water proof,no probs with them, though be carefull when switching on and off, keep the finder well away,as they do turn back on,well mine do anyway, oki doki, ian
  22. only way to do it,is go out with some one, with all the gear, and give it go,handle a few ferts, wont be long before you want your own,i got one, then her sister, now got more on order from this years, new ones, few months to wait for them, but will be worth it,there a good line of workers,so keep pestering, and some one will show you the ropes, see if you can handle it,before you spend a fortune on,collars and stuff, oki doki, ian
  23. been out today on the moors and green and brown nets are a pain,to keep track off,i have started putting some red cord on mine though, bright red, courtesy of a lad on here who sells bright nets, and who was slagged off by some ,any way the bright net set up is spot on,cant miss em even in the snow ,way forward i think,a definate for me after this season, atb, ian
  24. hiya, where do you get those batteries from tony, could do with a spare or two, cheers
  25. go for the cz,vever heard of one go wrong, shoot all night long no probs,i have the Silouette and a mod 2e,both spot on,2e might be up for sale as need a new shotgun in the next couple of weeks, just hate getting rid of a class gun,the 452 will be in the cabinet for a good few years to come, will out shoot most people, and cheap as chips to run,atb ian
