  1. funny c**t arent you???..i ment what qurry you mostly hunt ya spa!!!!..like i mostly hunt rabbit maybe the odd fox......some fuking dickheads on this site n your one of them ask a stupid question on an open forum and get a non leading answer that stays within the eyes of the law and you call them a dick head we are in the best political position for years we are achiving small results in favour of our passion all over the country and we are edging towards a better situation for all of us and you feed the opositions fire and give them conserns over the true understanding between h
  2. fay is whippet x fel terrier and back to whippet several times. she stands 18" to the shoulder and is very fine. She is 18 months and has no problems catching day time and lamped rabbits. Is getting better at ferreting and showing potential. I will be able to judge in two more seasons. Very sociable and works well with other dogs showing a great temperament. The black bitch Chole is 8 months and Mike Brown bred. 18" to the shoulder, and progressing well. The other dogs in the pictures are of skycats breeding. The photography was not done by myself... Thank you Steve! you out d
  3. Yappers all the way.. when you have a whippet that yaps the reason is frustration the dog may have been entered early or not able but if you enter them correctly and they catch early on i dont personaly think that there is a more loyal dog out there. mine is going from striength to strength was amazied 3 weeks ago my whippet is 19 inch to shoulder she slipped on a mooving rabbit at about 50 yards picked it up around 100 yards and retrieved to hand 13 months old i will never own another breed now does every thing i ask has tought me loads and lets my little girl ride her around the hous
  4. dont do it or it will end in tears your ferrets will most likely become ill and pass on i dont know exactly why it happens but it happened to me and now i will never let a cat near them ever again take note or you will be putting your ferrets in unecesery danger

  6. as you will soon discover that training two at once will be a strain on you and the dogs
  7. get in contact with the counsil and ask the chances are that if you aproach them in the right way you will get the permission . the law states that england is a rabbit free area and all land owners, managers have a responsability to take precautions to prevent damage to all land by rabbits get a meeting with the apropriate person put on a tie and be humble good luck
  8. before you go any further with the dog do the most important thing and get it stock broken
  9. i dont stop at all i will be ferreting untill the season starts again but i do it as controll and rabbits dont stop eating crops but it will get harder and harder as the land changes having saying that i wiil be relying more and more on snaring, shooting and trapping but i think that to keep rabbits to reasonable populations you need to work all round
  10. thatb is the right attitude to have if you want advice the pm me i dont claim to know everything but someone i know will know the answer. respect will get you far, keep it up and maby some may follow
  11. i dont own a bull cross, dont get me wrong dont know about them seen a couple work but wasnt impressed but seeing a couple dont even quallifie me for an educated geuss. what i did notice more last year was how many are popping up in shows and winning. i personaly think each to thier own and if thats a bullx then so be it as long as the owner does things right with the dog and dont put uor future at risk then live and let live. when i say do the right thing i mean stock breaking, if a dog is under controll and not a thret to live stock, i dont think it matters about its breeding. i get the
  12. thats not a problem, i will prob get some stick from someone now but this is how i do it. first method is used when lamping grab around its head where it is connected to the neck then with other hand take its feet and pull you will feel it go, this method i find to be quick and efective but not possible in a purse net. the other way is to hold around the head/neck and push up the chin using your hand as leverage to break the neck
  13. i walk mine every day, some times work does get in the way and he ends up with a run on the farm i live on but i notice an instant drop in attention and obiedence maby this is a saluki mind set but any site hound be it lurcher longdog or say a whippet will mentaly benefit from some free running. in the mornings on the way to work i drop my bike off at my mates after work i walk my dog to his (about 2 miles ) on this walk he spends most of his time off the lead or at heel, this part is his obsticle course over different surfaces through woods and across ditches then we stop at my mates for
  14. people will always have their own opinion thats fact and this world would be pritty grey other wise, the bottom line is that magpies dog is as good as it is not by breeding or where it came from but knowlage, training, and time. as i said the bitch he has is good it has been on some of my permission and can come back anytime, part of my education will come from this aswell as the advice that magpie has given me and i am happy to follow it. all the people slating hanckoc should look at thier own dogs spend less time typing and more time hunting our passion is under constant threat so put
  15. a lot has been said about david hancock but most of it seems to be just that, talk. i had the pleassure of watching one work last season at ferreting, owned by magpie and i wouldnt hesetate about getting a hancock pup, you put in the effort that magpie has and get a result anywhere near the dog that he has and you will have a dedicated worker and freezer filler for years to come. go see david and talk to him about what you want a phone call wont be no bother.
  16. i hate to be negetive but rearly, what are you talking about! it doesnt know where it is going and it gives up. hares are animals of habbit they have places where they live this may well be quite a large section of land but dont be nieve, that hare is on the ground all the time and they are escape artists they know that bit of land better than you. as for giving up we are not talking i wll try harder next time or i am a bit bored come back tomorrow, we are talking loose and die. get beaten yes but give up no. as comparing them to a rabbit( mistaken on the lamp i think we have all done
  17. 14 weeks old walking with a beddi whippet the rabbit had mixi and in the end i had to kill it but she tried bless her.
  18. i think the most likely outcome would be a massive vets bill
  19. this is what you want to be doing
  20. i think i needed a bit of down time, thought about going for the dogs but was about six miles away. i do that a lot when you go back with the dogs you will have already worked out your aproch and wil be better for it. makes you feel good bieng out there in the darkness with no one else about, kind of shows us how small we rearly are
  21. bang on there i think that pet homes are the best option but there not easy to find
  22. i am not lamping massive areas like some so i have no need for a 4x4. i dont think i would use one any way i like moving on foot, bieng quiet and getting as close as i can in stelth is what it is all about for me. just me, the dog and the quarry thats an art form. field craft is bieng replaced by technology and skills are bieng lost. i think that the new generation of hunters(including me) need that education. this is only my opinon, not right not wrong just the way i choose to conduct myself
