Just a couple of pictures of a young gyp I have learnin to ride in the back of the truck with her older sister and my daughter just in case she decides to bail out. Nothin special but in a couple more trips she will be doin it by herself and will be learnin the ropes so next winter she can hang with the big dogs.

If you dont know if a dog is any good by 13 months old then I'd say you aint no dog man......not my kinda dog man. I need to edit this to say that of course nobody can know if a dog is any good by that age but they damn sure can tell if its a shit eater by then.

I dont know them nor know what your temperatures have been like but I doubt any hotter than here and there is no way that its too hot yet to run dogs. There have been a few days where it was maybe but not one night yet. Plus a good dog man will know how to adjust his dogs to the heat and will also keep them in tip top shape year round and the heat will barely bother them and even if it does, just let them rest up and as long as you didnt cook them for real then you will be alright. We've only had the hounds out a few nights so far cuz we are still running some daytime but give me anot

There is and end to every dog, good or bad. The good ones obviously take longer to find it. I dont know what kinda critters they are messin with but if they run 5 days a week and catch alot of shit then they either got good dogs or they are full of shit. I'm out every day of the week with my dogs unless they get layed up but I aint catchin game every day or night of course.

Gents, most dogs quit and or "jack" cuz they are f****n curs. How many people do you honestly know that hunt "too" much? There aint hardly any of them. Quit making excuses for them sorry sumbitches and you will always have a good dog.

A good dogman can take a dog with alot of potential and with a little luck turn the dog into something special to watch. If the dog has no potential it wont matter what they do, they will still be feeding a cull. As far as ruining dogs with alot of potential, its very very rare. It is so rare that its not even worth mentioning. I've met very few men with balls big enough to "ruin a good un". What I mean by that is most people I have met are very soft both inside and out and they will make excuse after excuse instead of puttin the time and effort into finding out what they truthfully have

I have been around and owned countless number of greyhound type dogs throughout my life and even at more than 10 years younger than your old ass I would hazard a guess that I have caught more critters in the last two years than you have in your life.......BIOTCH!

I agree 100%. Folks that think they will kill over and over again are dreamers. They will quit.......and quit fast on my yard. I have only seen one dog that never quit....every other one has quit. The more greyhound thats in them.....the faster it shows.

What a great post. You put into words what I always think about and want to say. There is just something about a dog that knows how to catch and kill fluidly. Folks that have never seen will never understand. No over running it, no fighting it...just catch and kill. Awesome! Once again, great post.

If I were you, I'd just breed back to a pure lamping dogs or a pure coursing dog depending on what you want.
