I don't understand the logic though in lambasting the police. If he appeared to be a straight up guy to them then that's exactly what you'd expect them to say when asked on the matter. It's like if he was a plumber or an electrician, would tradesman be made to feel guilty because a nutter murdered someone. Now I know full well most coppers are arseholes, it don't mean they are all closet Bundy's though. ?

And speaking of adultery, some folk I suppose believe that adultery is more hurtful and more serious than theft. I mean I would be more hurt discovering that my wife of 20 years had cheated on me a hell of a lot more than someone breaking in to my shed and stealing my bicycle. If folk agree with chopping the hands off thieves or whatever then what would be a fitting punishment for a cheating wife.

I meant it took us a while to realise that it was barbaric. But my point is we did, are you claiming that our forefathers were animals and beasts? I find it interesting how are views can sways, and like I said that's me included.

I never mentioned the stoning of women, but talking of that. What if said woman had committed murder, would stoning her to death be justified? And speaking of stoning for adultery, those in Saudi Arabia will be thinking it's strange that us Europeans disapprove of such practices for adultery especially when we once punished the sin just as brutally. ?

Because said folk then whine about how barbaric these people are for doing the same. And when they do whine they don't start saying well i agree with capital punishment for this but not for that. It's just interesting at times to see sweeping statements with little thought behind them.

Where I've said before. Just an observation, now please don't bring up the punishment for adultery here. Would you say you agree with the punishment dished out by the Saudi's for theft, rape, murder, etc? You know what I'm getting at with this.

I get that but I am talking about murderers here. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of people, me included. How many times have we said such and such should be tortured slowly before their death? These same people then go on to cry that those who carry out such practices are barbaric monsters. And I'm certain that most don't clarify that they are merely speaking of crimes like adultery when they vilify such punishments.
