    went to a permission today (old maze stubble) to see if i could bag some pigeons or crows with the hatson watched for nearly 2 hours nothing doing so went to a field where me and ian have hammed the rabbits still plenty of scratts and rabbit warrens look very active so got set up with the 17 hmr raining on and off late afternoon everything wet through accounted for 2 rabbits at yards body shot (food for the ladder trap) i could here geese on one field and sneaked up to about 150 yards there must have been 100 greylag geese they were grazing the field off only 6 Canada geese

    got a call from one of my farmer friends asking if i could take a look on the old railway bank plenty of rabbits about . (here we go that time of year again )so needs must i arrived about 11am and started to get set up long nets down little lurcher waiting shotgun at the ready first large warren 2 in the net this bank i normally ferret while 2 others shoot but single handed today i left the first half alone as i could not do it by myself and did the middle the end is a nightmare so these will be shot with the 17 hmr in the near future the warrens where mainly under brambles but anything sneaki

    got a call off the farmer saying there was a few rabbits running about and doing a lot of damage so phoned ian (stoggy ) up to see if he wanted to spot for me while i shot the rabbits me and ian have taken well over 200 off here ferreting and shooting with night vision since last march well we got set up and first rabbit 76 yards stone dead good start second one 93 yards the 3rd one was 142 yards( ferret food ) we then moved to the field were most of the damage was been done 4 th rabbit about 60 yards ian left about 4.45 just has the rabbits were getting more active so i changed positi

    i have walked hundreds off this field on a few occasions and seen them return within minutes same old story you need to be in the right place at the right time no matter what flappers or decoys you have its luck

    well decided to have a go on the pigeons as the forecast was OK got there about 9 am on the quad too far to walk with all the gear it makes life a bit easier so got set up and the pigeons where very weary not wanting to decoy .it was a rely slow day ended up with 31 wood pigeons 4 crows 2 magpies 2 crows dropped in the thick bramble which i couldn't retrieve the flappers were 2 turbo from aa decoys and 2 i had built all worked well considering its that time of year again
