  1. What a great picture, full of character, was the dog from any particular line? Stevie
  2. Yes, toyota & nissan are up there, I'm just not sure which models, want as good as I can get for the money, it's got to last me a few years. Stevie
  3. I need something that will get me to Aberdeen regularly in a bit of comfort and that I can put the dogs/hunting gear in along with the occasional run to the dump. Won't be doing any real offroad driving, just over a few fields now & again. Stevie
  4. Thanks, they're all from the same family. Here's another two. Stevie
  5. I was kinda thinkng that too DW...!! Do some reading kids. Stevie
  6. A fit terrier will expend less energy than an unfit one, fat or lean. Stevie
  7. So how do clubs raise funds? Thought that's what shows were for. Stevie
  8. Some crackin looking terriers there BT. Stevie
  9. Correct, George's dog came from Meeks. Stevie
  10. What's the difference between Gary Glitter and a greyhound? Greyhound waits for the hare to appear. Stevie
  11. If the pups go to a vet for injections and are docked, you're nailed, simple as that. I wouldn't trust anyone to say "I got the pup in Ireland" either. If I was keeping one for myself, I'd dock it, but which pup do you choose at 4 days? Stevie Edited to say, I'm assuming your in Scotland.
  12. British boxing fans being conned yet again. Stevie
  13. Mate, you wouldn't be asking unless you knew what you wanted to do. Use the dog if you think it's right. If it doesn't work out, it's your time lost, no one elses. Best of luck. Stevie
  14. Hi mate, yes he's still hunting the DV Minkhounds. I haven't ben down there for a while but I don't think he'll have any Parsons in the kennel!! Last I was down he had about maybe 10 terriers, all russells. Stevie
  15. I hunted with them over an 8 year period up until the ban. they had some decent hounds at that time. They stopped using a terrierman after that so I stopped going. Worth a look if your in that area though. Stevie
  16. All right Mal, it could be my office network, some pics I can see others not. If I pm my email address would you send on the pics? Stevie
  17. Can't see pics mate or I would be. Stevie
  18. I've just finished reading my copy of Mr Darcy's book and would like to comment. It's a reasonable read and I can imagine some of the younger terrier enthusiasts being well impressed with the content. What I'd like to compliment Mr Darcy on is his handling of quarry once the terrier has been reached below ground. You obviously have nobody to impress and must have been taught by good honest dogmen who had respect for their quarry. Good to hear someone openly saying they don't want their terrier to get injured unnecessarily. If this is the standard of young terrierman we have in the UK, then
  19. Old thread this one. No I've never had one which I'd call hard. Stevie
  20. Fairplay BFTBS, here's to a lazy summer and a prosperous winter. Stevie
  21. Just for the record, I judged at Scone a couple years back and there were NO members in the final line up. I haven't been for a while but each time I have, the winner has been from outside the club. The lads who run this show are extremely dedicated and put time in throughout the summer, not just for one show a year. Sometimes the results aren't to everyone's liking but calling the show a fix isn't right. Stevie
  22. Who actually has any that work MOST keepers of them things are only interested in the conformation I'd bet there are more working russell types than any other. And I mean earth work. Stevie
  23. .... Hi Don, I didn't mean the smooths had lakey blood, I was asking if he meant smooths were the genuine type. Maybe the way I wrote it, anyway, lovely type there, I know your stuff will be one of the few exceptions with no foreign blood and wish you all the best with them. Stevie
