  1. If he's bitten you already, he definitely won't appreciate you trying to hand strip his belly!!! Just use clippers or scissors underneath. Those combs with the replaceable blades aren't great but will do for thinning out. Thumb & finger does the job fine. Don't be too heavy handed and take your time. Some dogs enjoy it, others don't! Stevie
  2. Hi Justin, I think you'd be hard pushed to find any jrt's without lakey blood these days, although they do exist. By "genuine good jrt" do you mean the smooth types? Remember a russell was a fox terrier to start with, you don't see many smooths in the old pictures, they were as much a "lakey" type as we have now. All the best Stevie
  3. I've used it, last time I went to buy some I was told it was being taken off the market. Good stuff though, I used a teaspoon to a litre for spraying the terriers and a stronger solution for my kennels. Stevie
  4. I can see a change in her already Skycat! Coming on nicely. I'll post a pic of mine when I get home next week. Got a name yet? Stevie
  5. I'd check on the paracetemol, pretty sure that can be damaging. A quarter to half an asprin would do the job. Otherwise sound advice. Stevie
  6. I had a Cloughie bred bitch about 3 or 4 years ago. She took to work very naturally, entered quickly and was a pleasure to own. Friend of a friend has her now and as far as I know she's still working away. Stevie
  7. Pretty sure there were folk from various "clubs" that went the KC route. I'd be surprised if the gene pool was made up of only 50 terriers but I know they opened the register again a few years back and invited some of the "clubs" to register their terriers. True Jack Russell? That's a bold statement coming from anyone. If you look at the pictures in Hunt & Working Terriers, most of them are of old lakelend/fox terrier type. So because it looks like a lakey doesn't mean it is. I associate russells with a style of work, not how they look. Donny C, any chance of some informed comments? S
