    y when the cut has all the rubbish off the trees on the bottom or the wind and boats are pushing it along then use a drop shot and retrive. Gives you far greater control.

    i steer clear of fatballs and meal worms in feeders. just chuck them down after dark for the hedgehogs as they love them, during the day they just get mullard by starlings.

    Could you send me a picture of a Greenfinch so I can remember what they look like. My father is little short of buying his wild bird food in bulk and has 100s of birds coming to his garden and the most common used to be the Greenfinch and now there's none. Very sad.

    the have electro fished very hard around here, but there are still a few about, just have to find them, no big shoals anymore just singles mainly.

    Had an hour the other evening and an hour at dinner today. used the same method 3oz drop shot lead, fluorocarbon to a size 4 drop shot hook then fluorocarbon again tied directly to the braid. on the hook was a jelly minnow. not the best of conditions on either outing but nowt can be done about that, for me its just a bit of time away from everything. catching something is a bonus.

    Had a couple of hours to spare, so I grabbed the rod and jig bag, jumped in the truck and headed for the local cut again. First hou was a total loss but as dusk fell, the dredging barge worked its magic once again. Standing on the back and drops hotting down the side. A good Perch, only around a pound but good enough for me.

    uni knot is the easiest i have found, double on the braid to fluro. failing that a small swivel and a couple of half blood knots lol Im new to knots lol cheers i bet you had a window seat on the special bus when you were at school Nah mate was waiting round corner for you to go work so could pop in and see your mrs you couldn't peel your lips off the window. so no worries there
