the green box i what i use for winter and is preetty basic the only problem with it is that all my ferrets jump out at one other wise it's perfectfor winter i just chuck a old shirt in there and they're usally quite content i use this next one for summer its good because it lets the ferrets breath and get sepperated if its to bright i can cover the front aswell its abit tricky to get them in but if you face it to the hole it makes it abit easyier i have one of the normal boxes aswell but i dont carry it around i only use it to transport my ferrets usally on long trips its got premenate water

i use an old tackle box with a handle i prefer to carry mine its always up and down all the time beside the most i usally have to walk is a km between holes its plastic and water proof and holds 3 ferrets easy wood gets to heavy if i ever make anothe one id make it out of plastic

my 2 and a half year old stag and pionter were broken to ferrets at there age just do it slow i neveer even let them get within a foot of my ferrets i would always smack them on the nose when they got to close now they've slowly larnt the ferrets can sneack under there legs and bite or sctart there feet my dogs run when a ferret walks out now but its proberly easyier to braeck them to an older dog the a pup at the playful age

ya iv noticed but the ceramic on the other side just touches it up i only use the coarse carbide when there a chip in the blade or at the start to get the shape that knifes not a fold up is it ?

most of these thing come naturaly so if its a smart dog it should teach its self as long as you take it often enough and dont let it do any of the wrong things just start it slow one thing at a time the first step is to make sure the dog wont touch the ferrets

ya i just lost my best worker to heat storke or somthing similar a few days back im just lucky my two pups left lived because they were in the same cage it only took and day and we had to cancel the rest of the trip i was hand feeding and watering her but she just fell asleep and didnt wake back up poor bitch

nah my blade 1 and abit centemeters across the serade is used to breack the back legs and hack off the head also the problem the the stanley blade is that running it up the guts would take ages youd ethier breack the intestines or keep have ting to reinsert the kinifes while a curved tip dose it perfectly also you'd have trouble spliting the back legs because the blades to large to fit in between the rabbits legs cutting the head off also should be nice and quick but because the blades always keen it is always handy but say you want to skin somthing bigger one day or have to stab say a fox qui

also what time of year do you belive is the best time to get a pup considering we only hunt the winter for deer and thats all it really has to be good at as long as its quite good at it

ya from what iv heard from alot of hound hunters and stalkers is that there also keen to sort of get there hands on a good gwp pup because there all sick of the ever outgoing gsp' s ya aslong as they work there dogs abit id be more then happy to get those contacts off you i remember seeing your dogs in a pervious post and they looked good so if you vouch for the breeder id happyily look in to it further and past the numbers around

just wondering what poeple find is the best knifes and sharpener to use out in the field on rabbits i use a half serreated u.s. made Gerber and a smiths sharperner what have other poeple found to be the best or what do they use

id almost pay for a teacher to question the morals and ethics of hunting id throughly enjoy letting them embares themselves in front of the class in fact it would definatly brighten up my day reducating the class -
it naver hurts to have a dog with a bita balls so that gets rid of the visla and and i havnt seen a good gsp since our last bitch so i reackon its a gwp for me also from melbourne victoria

i use a high tensial fence wire and bend it to the desired shape at the top its so thin you can stick it in to any ground no matter how hard it is and if it bends at all which it rarely dose just bend it back

got a gsp that i plan on getting rid of hes over active and hunts to far away hes also way to noisey in the bush he's a great ferreter and unreal in the black berries and goes hard on fox and cat he's also a good retriever on duck but is way to over excited hes found many deer when hunting with the hounds but has only had to shot over him he's 3 years old and makes a better lurcher then a gundoghe's extremly obidient but only when you get very loud and only within 100 meters of you although he hunts great next to a ute but im a walking bloke im not interested in the breed anymore and am wantin

ya both good points so im assumioing he'll just get over it ya and im pretty sure the ferrets do get pretty energy drained so somthing like that would be good (recharge)

g'day i just got back from a week long trip and the last few days one of my 11 week old hobs has started sucking my 2 year old jills ear to the stage were it started to bleed today, they've been sweating alot the past week even though iv been weting them down the whole week its been between 35 and 40 degrees celsius and even though they've been in the shade its been bloody hot they've been eating nothing but rabbit and have had constent water but i cant figure it out why is this ferret doing it its brother did it for a little while but not as bad i was thinking that mabye it was doing it for t
