  2. it's a Stalon w110. seems okay to me but I have no experience of any other mods for centrefire. it came with the rifle and the scope
  3. well done! great choice of rifle, just put a post up as had my first fox with my new .222 Tikka this evening I'm as chuffed as you are!
  4. as some will know I posted recently about the .222 and had some great feedback which encouraged me to follow my gut and get this calibre. spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon shooting with a few different bullets to get used to the new rifle, it's my first centrefire just to add. visited a local permission for a while yesterday evening and called for foxes to no avail. I tried the same spot earlier this evening with the same result, so I relocated about 300 yards further along and started my remote fox caller and within a couple of minutes out dashed a young dog fox heading

  9. my next decision is which ammo to try, I guess I will have to buy a few different types from what is available to me and do some tests. these are prices from my two nearest gun shops John Forsey Norma. 62gr £27. for 20 Norma Vmax. 40gr £29. for 20 Federal tnt green. 53gr £28. for 20 Sako gamehead. 55gr. £22. for 20 Countryway Hornady. 50gr £23.60. for 20 Winchester. 50gr. £16. for 20 let's hope the Winchester shoot the best!
  10. Wise choice sir thanks U want to pick your brains with regards cleaning if I may as it will be my first centre fire . what products to use? and what cleaning regime to use? I have rimfires and have never cleaned the bores only give the barrel and action a wipe over with oil rag. what would you suggest ?

  13. good work Elliot, what scope are you using there? I'm looking for a .222 at the moment and also a suitable scope.
  14. whatever your rifle prefers is the answer. personally I use eley as they they are very accurate in my rifle and also readily available. both will do what you need them too in the field. my advice would be get a box of each and see how your groups are.
  15. I went to the game fair yesterday and didn't see anything great in .222 will need to keep checking on gun trader or bite the proverbial bullet and vary licence for .223
  16. spoke to the guy I know and he wants 800 quid for the rifle and mod. think I will keep looking.
  17. can't be as heavy as the cz455 laminated thumbhole hmr i had ages ago, can it????
  18. went to a different shop this evening and the two second hand rifles they had didn't look in great condition so have asked them to get some prices on new rifles. In the mean time I've found out a guy I know through a friend is selling his tikka m595 as he is getting a t3 from someone he knows. still following? lol I'm ringing him later to have a chat so will keep you posted
