Well said Shay, Nuttal fan your a bit like Curtis Price to Plummer, I have dug in Cheshire, many places many times, there are rabbit holes like every area of this country and there will always be a time when the requirment for a pipe cleaning type terier will be required. You are getting away from the point, an average terrier on most ocassions will account for a fox in a rabbit warren come earth. Neither my terrier or Brians or any persons will be tested in rabbit earth type places, Brians terriers will not be tested these days with the Forest, they do not do enough digging there, by the way,

Mr.1 can we see some pics of your dogs, please, maybe not the freshly bitten ones, but the type you work and that dosen't cause offence to the antis,i'm sure everone who has been following this thread with great interest would agree with me,if it's not too much trouble, good hunting, Higgins. Bitten ones!Do you want to see my small ones. medium ones. large ones or the extra large? All jokes apart you willl not be seeing my terriers on the net, not unless I can sell pups for £250 plus each!
-
Yes quite right, over sight on my behalf, Brian has exported to various parts of the world and on checking the web sites you can see the small type of terrier they have and seem to need for their type of work. On 1 site there is a breed standard from Brian, may have been Germany, possible America, cannot remember now, breed standard for a working terrier! Dont make me laugh, for all readers from all corners of the earth, here is a breed standard that Frank Spencer (see he is coming back to life!) has devised: Not necessarily in order of priority, short and sweet, MUST BE ABLE TO FIND, MUST STA

Hello Shay/Darcy Yes, both comments very true, there is still plenty of working blood about, I know I give the russels a bit of stick but there are a few still knocking about, but to be honest I do not know of a line of workers, do you? And yes you are right about the so called modern movie star terrier man, very surprising the names that are becoming more like Ginger French, Plummer, Nuttal, Middleton, Jonesey and the rest we all are aware of. Unfortunatly there will always be blaggers and people will take in their stories, however, if we can identify such persons and the beauty of this
-
Do you need a spade with imported show russels, your comments "well i guess thats patterdales for ya get a real terrier", try it, may open your eyes, then again depending on the quarry they may be to game? May be better off with little yappers (I am talking earth work, not baying a Hog) talk terrier work, not bushing and baying, glad you pointed the flag out I thought it was Japan! and this is were they made copied Russells for half the price of the Chapman, Jonesy, Cloughie, Mousley, Gould breeding. Good luck, I am not going to commet to much because never been there, hope to will 1 day,

Yes for the Cheshire Hunt approximatly 34 years ago, done 3 seasons before being replaced by Joe Shaw. Brian was a keeper for the then Hunt Master and this was his in road in to the Hunt as a terrierman (unpaid) I am aware he is currently follwoing the Cheshire Forest but I am informed this Hunt does very little if any terier work now
-
Yep, beware, these Polish teriers are breeding and multiplying like the African terrier!
-
Have you got another £300? If so I have a brick layer terrier to go woth your Plummer, that way you will be an all rounder!
-
Good thing with this site, no hiding places and we can all comment, carry on!
-
Well said, that apears to be the problem of today, the youngsters want it now, must be the best and money no problem, but dont give the in put Good hunting

Eddie may not have access to the internet (doubt that with all the world wide business deals!) but he has enough diciples here on the site to defend him, not a case of being sporting, I am not wanting to harm him or any other person, what I do is discuss topics, see pics of nice working types ( not freshly bitten) and expose lies or phonies, create debate because with out debate we have no site or a very boreig site at that. Everyone has a view, a type of prefered terrier, some may pass coment that may sound silly, lets correct these persons, educate them, this doesnt mean talk down, ther

What! and be slated by m.r1! Nah, thought about it but theres to many antis on here, dont want to give them any more ammunition!

Hello Nelly, Brian will not be pleased you adding a few years on his clock! I have known Brian and I am familiar with his type of terriers for over 25 years, the man has in the past preserved, note the words past, the black type fell/patterdale type terrier more than most. Depending on how far back you can, or wish to trace your pedigree there is bound to have been some in put from Terriers Brian had something to do with. However, lets look at the other side of the coin, I do not want to slag Brian off as I have known him to long, never dug with him, friends have in the past and all with

Hello Doga, Nice looking type, height and weight, I think some readers have misunderstood my comments, possible because I did not elaborate my comments fully. Your terrier you can see strength in the head and muscle definition and her height is a decent height, if she was 14" and weighed 12lb you would see a massive difference in appearance and possibkle in her working capabilities (not her attitude to work) Experienced terrier men will know each individual terriers capability, there are some earths a terrier will shine, take the same terrier to another area/different type of ground/sett e

Yes Ive heard they are demons on rabbit!, better muzzling them like a ferret stops them killing to ground!
-
Hello Shay, sorry if my terminology and words cause offence, that apology goes to all who may have been, or felt personaly offended as it was not meant to be (its my terrets) I do intend to wind people up thats part of the crack, or os it? But I also get great pleasure in exposing liars and phonies who are pretending to be terrier men/women and are ruining (or have ruined) many breeds of terriers, have wasted the time and expence of young terrier lads. Yes Eddie is a terrierman, done a lot of digging during an era when a lot of terriermen done as much, but never ruined their breeds, I have

Redmoor, Believe it or not, I get bombarded with emails from like minded people, thank fully not by show men/women, I ONLY COMMENT ON TRUTH, and if it winds people up I cannot help that, the truth often hurts Deerman, dug all around your area for many years, may even know me! know the decent terriermen in most parts and Ive also seen the so called terier men using 2 inferior terriers (variety of breeds) in easy spots, not saying you but you will have seen them, mainly Jonesy and Chapman bred terriers The last part of your email a threat? Hope you can find better than Eddies russells, i

I know it is a old topic but it takes a long time to scroll through the site pages and I tend to randomly enter a page number, he wasnt your mate you bought the dog off, mates do not charge for pups or adult terriers, eh is an aquaintance Wish you luck with your terriers

Your comments clearly show the quality and amount of digging you did on your visit and also during your season. Yes Eddie has done plenty of digging, so has my grand dad on his garden plot and he has never dug deeper than 3 foot! My comments are not related to Eddies yester year "easy hunt" terrier work he carried out in the West country, yes there can be deep digs but these digs were missed because of the numbers game. I agree with Topper, "at the end of the day its everyone to there own" but what pisses me off is the bull you see on the site about honest Eddie, again he may be as hon

Obviousley he cares for his quality working bitches in breeding the arse out of them! as I said Breeder Breeder Breeder

Fair play to you Levs,...I admire loyalty in a fellah.... You are correct about Eddie Chapman,...and yes,.we are all getting on a bit..... Cheers,...CHALKWARREN... Eddie rang me today as well .Told me im too old to still be digging .Got a nice smooth dog linebred back to my old dixie can use him if I wish.Unlike some Eddie doesnt charge a stud fee for Hunt terriermen.or as he says Hunt Servants.Whatever he is a likeable bloke who loves his Whisky Well I should have known to check the sites pages and come accross E Chapman, unfortunatly I am to busy ironing my mole skins (I wi

Nice, how old? What breeding?
-
I note on the web site the amount of russells I would class look like show type dogs, however, as the saying goes, "never judge a book by its cover". My own experience of seeing this type (never owned) is they are, to the true terrier men, useless. I once had the displeasure, or pleasure, depending onnwhat side of the fence you are, of listening to Mr Chapman talk at a terrier talf night. Never heard so much sh**. Any one there? If so rememeber the story about his terrier Bangor that was better than the Hounds! The reason for raising a new topic is to high light and bring to the attention
-
Nice looking bitch! Do you really need to let everyone know your terrier stayed in for 3 hours? Think about your comments and especially your "fresh photos". Happy for you, but just think!
-
Hello all, dont wory both Frank and I are still here monitoring the sites comments which seemed to have died off! Frank is taking his medication and is ok at the moment, however, the Dr has advised him to relax and has requested he is not shown any s**t on the any hunting web sites as this may trigger a reaction and cause him to react in a truthfuf, some times blunt and can sound sarcastic tone (something to do with his terrets). As for me, still here, will comment when worth commenting about, there is a lot of shit getting talked but I also think, by some of the comments, there are a couple o
